Our year in review generally is around Tyler, but it is around 2 little boys that have become even bigger.
January: The seizure that Tyler had in December really put us into a cope mode. Such a cope mode that now, January 2013, we are FINALLY pulling out of it. We have literally worked our way to a new state in a cope mode kind of flight. But we got through it. Nothing major worked.
Grayson turned six months old. He was sitting up and playing and doing so well.
February: Tyler got phenol shots. It was the last time he has had them. He did really well, he behaved and was so polite. His other behaviors were exhausting. He had terrible behaviors that we decided to change seizure meds to other meds and medicate for the anxiety the seizure had given us. It was a very long few months before they were under control.
March: This was a great few months that started with 2 sweet ladies knocking on our door so we could be a WISH family.
April : we had the BEST visually impaired Easter EVER! And we got even more information on our wonderful world of Disney Cruise! And out sweet baby Grayson turned 9 months old. He was growing so fast.
May: We started on Paxil, and he was doing awesome! We were really struggling with school placement for the poor kid. And we were planning our awesome trip to the Bahama’s
June: We went on the best trip in the entire world. It made Tyler’s dream come true and we talk about it daily. We had such a great time. I hope some day we are able to do it again.
July: My sweetest termie turned 1! What a year it was. We had a HUGE party and everyone we knew came to celebrate how amazing he is. He also broke his arm AND we decided to move back to Arizona.
August: We moved. Ty started in the BEST class that he could be in. It was a wonderful place for him to go. Grayson got his first hair cut. We moved into our “Summer house.” Ty is thriving here.
September: Ty had a fabulous birthday party where we bowled.. and bowled. He was so happy and so great.
October: We went to Utah to visit. Turns out, with the end of the year events, we won’t be going back as often as we thought we would so we are so glad we were able to see Kayden get baptized and we are looking forward to Tyler’s this year!
November: Tyler officially does his bike like a champion. He is doing awesome. It was also where we started to unravel a little.
December: I had surgery and am struggling a little and Christmas was awesome!!
We have had a rough few end months. We will do what we always do and survive! We will come out on top and do the best we can!

Merry Christmas?
Holy smokes! The New Year is here ( almost!) and I haven't even blogged about Christmas. I must be awesome. I also looked for my camera cord for 3 days and didn't find it till tonight. And Christmas morning was hecka busy and I got a total of .... NO pictures. Instead we facetimed the Old Lady and the boy ( and Aunt poo poo) in Orangeville!
In the works.... Nothing. After having surgery I have opted to do NOTHING for another week, maybe 2 and send my kid back to school on the 7th. And start a new private blog with other stuff on it. Stuff that isn't as pretty as the Tyler stuff. We will be still doing this one but a private one will have the "good" stuff. So send me an email if you haven't already. Like I said this one will still be going because we have found way to many people through our awesome hero!!
So we will be posting Christmas in a day or 2 and we will be enjoying our new year with new resolutions and with new hope and new things to say!
Till then Bring on a BETTER 2013!!

Our year in Review
January: No speech, but a small breakthrough with the first sound of every word. My goodness we were excited. We started depo lupron because I was getting sick and our thought of a new baby was crushed.
February: We played "normal" activities with no shoes on in freezing cold weather with our "Friends" ( aka we pretend played with our stuffed animals.)
March: Tyler was left on the bus. I vowed to find him a voice if it was the last thing I did this year. We also had several big milestones like following directions, going up the stairs standing up and climbing REALLY well!
April: Easter came and that meant a big party with the Grandma and Grandpa. Tyler broke his nose at Grandma and grandpa Browns ( and fell hard a day or so later re breaking it!) We also started fertility treatments.
May: Tyler had to get stitches in his head. We started baclofen. Ty got a new bed and Kayden got to raise a star at make a wish!
June: Our first cycle in May was a BUST and we were doing cycle #2 in June. Meds were raised to a horrific amount. Tyler got his tonsils out and we had a HUGE HUGE breakthrough and started actually TALKING!
July: IUI didn't work. We were devastated. Tyler kept talking and made us so proud! Best of all, we went camping for the first time ever and Tyler had a blast. So did we and hope to go more this year!
August: Had our first trip to Thanksgiving point. Had Amber and Robin over for a visit. Dallas had surgery and it was the WORST month ever!
September: Tyler turned 5!! The best thing of the WHOLE year. We went to the CIRCUS!
October: Tyler went to the dentist. Picked his own costume. Went to the pumpkin patch and he RODE A HORSE! His first year that he GOT Halloween!
November: Ty's talking has gotten SO good. He told a story about a Pizza! Tyler and dad become Handy Manny. Thanksgiving was AMAZING! Oh and that Santa, Yeah we FINALLY sat on his lap!
December: Mom had the worst teeth EVER! We saw the holiday lights with most of our cousins. Tyler painted in poo. AGAIN! Tyler had a fantastic Christmas and had ALL of his Labrum cousins and grandparents over Christmas morning. ( Aunt Linda and NICKY too!) Best present of all..... Ty is going to be a big brother!
After going through the last years blog I thought.. geesh, this year sucked! The best part about the year was the most important. Tyler advanced, is doing great, only had one surgery (sort of) and has done extremely extremely well! The next best was that after 2 years we finally are having a baby. The rest seemed to leave a lot to be desired. Lots of struggles with health for Dallas and I had a lot of personal things that I don't ever want to relive again.
It makes looking forward to 2011 pretty easy right now. We are excited what the new year will bring. We are excited to look to the future. We are excited to have a new baby and excited what changes will come about with Tyler.
So good Riddance 2010! May better luck come next year!!
PS. My new year resolution... not let this year suck, be a better house keeper, wife and mom. But most of all, happy, healthy and pregnant for 34-37 weeks!

New Year means new ideas and new things
Every year I do new years resolutions but I never really do them. But there are a few things I want to work on this year.
But recap first of 2009!~
January: We went on a trip to Utah with Shriner's hospital to get information as to what our next step was. We opted for botox and later when we moved we received Phenol injections in December due to muscle tone changes over the year.
February: Tyler was in the OR with ANOTHER emergency Shunt malfunction. This time we didn't wait as long as last time but still it was traumatic. He came out smiling and happy. We love him. And we got 2 fish. They were in a tank that Dallas made. They fish didn't last long.
March: We played a lot. My whole month is filled with pictures of us going to the swings, the park, SWIMMING, bubbles, laughing and fun.
April: Was filled with warm fun days as well. We went to the Zoo and enjoyed the monkey's up close and personal. We swam outside a lot and even swam in the cooler before we had a pool.
May: We had a few big appointments in May. He had an ABR and eye exams which turned out that he could hear and his eyes are still on watch for retina detachment. Meaning he still gets 3-6 week appointments on his poor eyes. I also started the bad luck of wrecking our cars.
June: I wreck and Total our other vehicle while picking up the vehicle that I had just wrecked in may. Dallas went to the Apple convention and I went to Utah to visit family. While there we got and survived the SWINE flu. We were SICK SICK
July: Speech, speech and more speech was done in July. Ty started back in swimming lessons and did really well. We got a new car. We got casted for new afo/smo's and Ty went back to school!!
August: Ty starts his 2nd year at preschool in Queen Creek. His class is small and I am really excited for it. We also make the decision to move back to Utah. Though not rash it was quick... Really it was a thought out decision.....
September: We are moving to Utah. House found, schools set up. Back to where our family is. Ty had a awesome birthday with a Rocket cake and he got a new bike.
October: Halloween at his new school. He was so cute. Shriner's hospital was a frequent place for us. Ty is scheduled for Phenol injections in December. A sweet dear family friend passed way and we went to Grandma's to visit.
November: I went back to work for a bit. School and work like usual. We get to spend Thanksgiving with both of our Families and Uncle Barrett, Chantel, Max and Morgan get to come and play.
December: We did phenol shots and serial casting. Ty was in casts for about 2.5 weeks. School ended for the year. ( And boy is Ty ready for Tuesday!) Grandpa Rue passed away so an emergency trip to Orangeville was made. Uncle Barrett and Chantel and Morgan and Max came back to visit. We were SOOOOOOOO excited.. Sad about Grandpa's passing but glad they came for Christmas.
I have no magical resolutions for myself this year. I have one goal. Read my Book of Mormon. I have a child that 4 days a week goes to preschool. I need to sit down every morning after he gets on the bus and read my scriptures. I have a 100 day program that should get me through in at LEAST 100 days.
I have lost a bit of weight this holiday season ( like 20 pounds~) and would like to keep it up. I want my clothes not to fit by Summer. So I am looking at something I enjoy doing to fill up the rest of the time while Ty is at school. Guess we will see. All of you who have been running races the last few months and year have really inspired me to get more healthy.
As a mom I want to keep Tyler entertained better. Barney rocks but a book ALL day is even better. I don't lose my patience with him often so I would like to keep that up.
Wife.... Well there are a lot I could do more of to be a better wife. But the most important is to tell him I love him every day and make sure I show him how amazing he is.

Overall I want to be a better person. More forgiving, understanding and loving.
Hope 2010 is a little less eventful medical wise and still full of memories that we can take with us. Family is the most important. All of them..... there are much bigger things to be offended over than something someone did or didn't do. I love them and need to show my love and care more.

2008
I have been trying to decide on resolutions for the new year. I have some things in mind and I really want to accomplish these goals. But first I wanted to list some things that have gone on in 2008.
So for the new year there are a few things that I personally want to work on and some things I want to work on with Tyler and as a family.
I LOVE feeling new and fresh. I plan to put an effort into each of these goals. It will make 2009 even better than 2008.
Happy new year!
- We were waiting in January 2008 for Ty's walker. By July we didn't need it as much as we did at the beginning. By September we were walker free!!
- Tyler had his first EEG and passed. It gave us some answers to our questions about his sleeping and since then we have had a much better time.
- I had surgery and have felt much better since. Continuing on a wild roller coaster ride of hormonal messes that continues to make me feel better.
- We were able to take a vacation where Dallas and I were able to spend a few days alone in Las Vegas and we had a wonderful time.
- Dallas got Tickets to see Phantom of the Opera in Las Vegas. It was so amazing. I loved it. I was in awe! GO SEE IT!
- Ty started swimming lessons and LOVED it. He is going to be doing them again.
- We "graduated" from the Foundation for Blind children and from the early intervention program and started preschool.
- Ty had his first shunt malfunction and we survived it without family! I was so sick wondering what I would do with a mom ( BOTH moms) to help. We did it and we missed you both.
- I became interested .. VERY interested in photography and have started a blog with my photos on it.
- Dallas has created and ran several programs on the IPhone. He has even made money from them
- Ty had dental surgery and recovered well.
So for the new year there are a few things that I personally want to work on and some things I want to work on with Tyler and as a family.
- Get healthy. Somehow I have managed to gain and OBSCENE amount of weight since giving birth to Tyler. I can't blame it on him really but stress, depression and the works has kept me from getting it off. BUT in order to eliminate a risk factor I need to get healthy. I plan to A) eat less, b) eat better c) move more. Dallas has gotten me a bike and Wii fit so I have no excuse other than being lazy. I also personally want to work on learning photoshop to enhance my photos.
- Be more attentive to my hubby. He works so hard for both me and Tyler. I need to be a better wife. My plan: spend as much time as I can with him. Go out on dates and plan more family activities.
- Plan more activities with Tyler. I get to be a mom along with all the other stuff so sometimes a movie is what he gets. I want to be a better mom to him. My plan: Limit my Internet activity and plan things to do with him. I want to take him swimming more and going to the park while it is good weather.
- Family is the most important thing to me. I plan to get my family to church EVERY week that I don't work. I have gotten more time off work to do this and to spend time with them. I plan to renew my recommend and take the time to get to the Temple.
- Work with Tyler to potty train and to wear his glasses and when we get his braces to get them on him EVERYDAY!
- Make dinner. Eat better and eat more often as a family. We need this. Ty needs this. I will be a better mom and wife
- Be more organized at home. Be a better house keeper and if I can't do a better job HIRE ONE!! So that we can have that calmness that comes with a happy clean home!
- Be an advocate to Tyler and for others with special needs and to help other learn about prematurity.
- Call my mom more. A few people in my life have had hard relationships or no relationships and I want to strenghthen mine.
- Be a family. Ultimately I want to reach my goal of getting Healthy enough to be able to finish our family. I want those risk factors gone so that we can be together as a family and be healthy and to finish what we started.
I LOVE feeling new and fresh. I plan to put an effort into each of these goals. It will make 2009 even better than 2008.

Drama, Drama every where.. Man.. I wish I had a drink!!
So yes.. we are private. How long will it last? That is something that I cannot answer. Hopefully not long.
A recap of recent events:
Mean people suck. Mean people talk crap about Ty. Mean people use words like mentally handicapped. Protective momma goes on search to make sure mean people are not talking crap where I can see. Protective momma finds comments about momma on blogs and other "public" spaces.
In order to continue to be protective momma, blog goes private. That way if words like CP, and seizures are mentioned then protective momma doesn't have to worry that mean people will be saying mean things about innocent, PERFECT and incredibly handsome little man!!
Ok!! So that is the first part.
The new year definetly started out with a Bang. Ty has been so good. He is doing very well. His mom decided he needed to be wearing his braces more. I am determined to do EVERYTHING that is asked in order to make and help him walk. So that is " his" new year resoultion. Isn't that a lovely one.
The first of the year appointments are all schedueled (minus one) and they started out pretty crappy.
Appointment #1 was a "emergency" of sorts. Ty has AFO's and he can't keep his feet in them. Meaning, he points his toes so much sometimes that the braces are not keeping his feet where they should go. So we headed in to get them fixed. It worked and it looks like they are keeping his feet in.
If you recal my issue with his shoes we decided to go buy shoes that were made for AFO's and so I called a company that made AFO's and asked if I could buy them. The exciting part was not only could I get them for him but possibly get insurance to pay for them. ( They cost about 60 bucks a pair.) I was more than willing to pay cash.
I got the address of an actual shoe shop. We decided to go after his AFO appointment. We got there and it was SO HOT inside that we had to take off Ty's clothes. So here sits a naked 2 year old who has NOT had a nap (minus the 20 minutes in the car toward Pheonix.) waiting for a sales person. Mind you, I have called to verify they even HAVE the shoes we need and they of course say yes. So we are sitting for 45 minutes... 45 minutes before they send someone over. I have even asked if there was someone who could help us. I get a young kid over here who hands me the display shoe. He doesn't help me measure his shoe or anything. I ask him if he would like to measure so we can get the right shoes and he says we dont' have a kids one. I ask him for a different size and he leaves and ten minutes later he comes back with NO SHOE. He goes and gets his manager as he could see I was PISSED. The manager comes back and says, " I am sorry. We don't really "do" kids shoes. Most kids that size don't NEED braces." I start bawling in front of a bunch of old ladies who are whispering " oh poor mom" and I start yelling at the shoe people. They are owned by people who make PEDIATRIC AFO's. Ty can't be the only person who wears braces in all of ARIZONA.
So I leave and call D and get the phone number for another place that has shoes. The lady that answered the phone was told I was angry for having stayed there for an hour to be told what we were. I told them I would be on my way. We had to stop and get food for Ty and we went to the next shop. As we walk in I realize that this is a CLINIC. I stop at the desk and tell the receptionist that we are here to try on shoes and pay cash and leave. She said that there is a wait for walk ins. The wait is 3 hours. I start crying and ask for the office manager. Quickly I am escorted back into a room. I fill out paper work for him and a women brings in 9.... that is right 9 pairs of shoes for him. We fit him and best news for the horrible day... SHE CAN BILL INSURANCE!!!
We come home to above said Drama, protective momma spends night in tears wondering if this is REALLY what she can handle and goes to sleep holding the bear that got her through so much..
Appointments for next week include Eye doc ( He has been wearing his glasses GREAT but he has been rubbing those pretty blue eyes for a while)
PT starts up and so does OT! The foundation starts as well.

Ending the longest post in awhile with some GREAT news!! He has been sleeping so well. The last 2 days he has slept in till almost 9!! I am in heaven!! Plus he is super cute!!
