We will be here until we decide to go home!! Hit me up if you want to hang out.... But better hurry, our Salt Lake Schedule is filling up. We can't wait to spend it with Oli, Amy and Stephanie and the few others on our list........

LOVE
You know, even with Poo poo being Ty's favorite word today, and the fact that he totally trashed my living room in 2.3 seconds this morning. Or that he never sleeps through the night and I end up in a tiny twin bed. I LOVE that kid more than anything.
Ty is off for his first 2 day sleep over with my mom and dad. I am SO thankful they were more than willing to take him. Dallas and I could really use a little get away. A day to sleep in, have yummy food ( food I have been craving for about 5 years I might add!) and time with each other.
I worry that he will not be ok. I worry that my mom wont be ok. That he will give her a run for his money. But either way. I love them both and love him so much.
Thanks mom and dad. Please keep my baby safe.

The upper post.......
After the last post you are probably thinking that we couldn't have had a good time but we did. I swear we did. We do tend to mix the good and the bad. I guess if it weren't for bad luck we wouldn't have ANY luck at all.
So, here it is. Complete with photos. ( photos may end up in a slide show. There are a few of them.)
Friday Dallas took us to the airport where we had a very uneventful flight. We were on the plane with a few families and all the kiddos on the plane were very good. Ty likes to look out the window and he didn't make a peep the whole trip. Little Einsteins and books make for wonderful plane companions.
The first leg of our trip was with grandma and grandpa Labrum who were waiting anxiously at the airport for Tyler and I. Aunt Nicky was with them and she was the most excited to see Tyler. Ty on the other hand just wanted down. He was off and didn't care who was with him as long as he could walk. He walked the entire way to the car holding hands with Grandma.
We decided to stay up in SLC the first night because of time and so that we could spend some time with Aunt Tammy and her kids. Plus we owed grandma and grandpa a nice dinner and there really isn't any place to take them in the EC. We decided to eat at Braza Grill. It is a huge huge favorite of mine and Dallas'. YUMMY.
After dinner we went to the hotel and swam our hearts out. Ty and I were in the pool for almost 2 hours. He was so funny. He would wait for grandpa to count to three and he would jump in. even without holding on to me. He would just go. He loved it. Him and grandpa shouldn't have been allowed to have so much fun.
(On the way out we ran into Uncle Barrett's best friend Evan. Totally random but fun. I haven't' seen him for a long time.)
The evening didn't go so hot as Ty decided that pool water and meds didn't go hand in hand and he threw up. Which made for a EARLY... and I mean EARLY (4 AM) wake up for Tyler. Thank goodness for computers and movies.
We ate breakfast and waited for Aunt Tammy and her kids to come over so we could go do something. Grandma wanted to go to the carousel at the mall so we headed there first. Then we went to the aquarium. It happened to be the anniversary for the aquarium so it was packed. About half way through Ty decided he was all done and we spent the rest of the time waiting and doing meltdown control. I knew we had a long day a head of us so I thought I would try super hard to get him to be happy. Remember we had a early wake up.
We ate lunch and headed to Aunt Linda' s for a visit. Aunt Linda has a puppy. Ty is not always a fan of pets but he had a great time. We pulled a little stool out that Ty and his other cousin Daphne just love. He sat there and played with the dog for a while. He even fed the dog a biscuit. He also figured out that he really liked the piano. He would play that thing and then run back to the dog. I think it was from his Little Einsteins that he decided that he liked it.
After Aunt Linda's we headed into Provo to visit with Grandpa Rue. I am told he usually looks a lot better because this day he was not doing so well. He looks so much older than he did when we came in January. He is in a rehabilitation center and hopefully he will get better and head home. Sometimes he can be a bit stubborn. ( Not sure where Tyler ever learned that skill)

After Finally heading into the EC I thought for sure that my sweet little man would have taken a nap. NOPE. So Tyler is wide awake and ready to play. Lucky for me. We went and jumped on the trampoline, swung on the swing and froze our little bum off. It was freezing.
Sunday was pretty uneventful. Church is smaller than it was when I lived there. Ty had a hard time at church. Lots of new people. Mom couldn't get to far away without him freaking.
Monday we decided would be the perfect day to go to the new pool in the big CD. It was over cast and raining. Being the brilliant and loving mother, I didn't sunscreen up Tyler or myself. Lucky for us, I am HUGE and blocked the sun from Tyler. BUT I was able to get my taste of the sun. My back is fried. Currently it is peeling. Ty LOVED the pool though and he had a great time. That new pool is amazing.
Tuesday was a laid back day. No place to go. We had a ward BBQ to attend and we were doing some stuff for Aunt Ruanne. We went to the park to play and throw balls. Ty had a blast. He also walked on the grass. Something he wouldn't do before.
Wednesday was the next part of our trip. We were heading up to spend time with the other grandparents. We had tickets to the temple open house. Then we were off to be with the Browns.
Thursday we had a day of shopping and cousin Noah's birthday party. We ate at the golden corral and we had cake and ice cream at the Martins. It was a great evening. Makes us a little sad we don't get to have to parties all the time. BUT you can all come down in September. Also on Thursday we met up with Amy and Oli. Dallas and Amy's hubby Todd have been best friends forever. Ty and Oli are about 3 months apart if you take into account our adjusted age! They were so cute but I couldn't get Ty to hold still long enough to get a good picture. Hopefully Amy got a few better ones. It was so good to see both of them
Friday we hit the zoo. It was a lot of fun. Ty got to see so many more animals there than he did at the phoenix zoo. So glad we went. It was worth it. He had a small meltdown and needed to take a nap but otherwise he was very good. It was a long day but he fared well.
Saturday was go home day. We were getting ready to head out to the airport when we noticed him getting sick. That was the bummer of the trip. He spent the flight throwing up and Sunday and today getting better. So far he seems OK. He is on Tami flu because of our exposure to the Swine flu. Dallas and I are both sick. Hopefully it will be short lived and we can get back to our daily routines. HOWEVER, With swine flu exposure Dallas is required to work from home 7-10 days or until our symptoms are gone. Whichever is greater.
Any way... that is our vacation. Here is the promised pictures.

Countdown to Vacation

Sometimes I wonder if visiting in laws. outlaws and parents, or whatever you want to call them, is really considered a vacation. In order to go I feel like I have to overload our schedules to make sure that everything got done before we go. And sometimes things just happen to land on the week we are leaving, making it a busy busy week.
To add insult to injury I just spent 4.5 hours reading a online driving course that had many typos and tried to insert humor. It even spent the amount of time you spent on a page. So if you were a fast reader you had to entertain yourself for 1-3 minutes while the timer counted down.
Today was the first day to start off our week. Dallas has had insomnia for about 2 weeks now. His meds for his insomnia are apparently NOT working. I, being the very supportive wife I am, have taken full advantage of his early morning rising to sleep in. Why not ? He is only getting about 2 hours of sleep and is up around 4 am. Just in time for Tyler to wake up. You read right 4 am. SOMETHING has to be in the water in this house.
We got the jeep back for about 3 days last week and had to take it back. A few things weren't working right so we had to take it back. Normally that isn't such a huge deal but this week it is a huge huge deal.
Because Dallas and I are going to be going to different places for vacation ( yes you read that right as well) we have a lot to do to get each other ready to head off to two different places. And because of the above mentioned insomnia today was a good indicator of how busy the week will be.
Dallas started the day with Ty around 4 am. Dallas sent Ty back to bed and he woke for good around 6. Dallas was nice enough to stay up and feed, change and play with Ty. At around 8 Dallas came in and Ty and I leave for the morning. We checked my mail and played and read books. Woke up D to head to his docs appointment for new meds and we got ready for our busy afternoon.
I feed Tyler at noon and hope he eats fast enough for us to get out of the house one. We have to be out on time because this appointment is a beast to be late for. We leave at exactly 12:58. We have to travel to St. Joe's in downtown Phoenix. I am getting super good at finding my way to 7th street ( or is it ave) and we make it before 2.. barely. Only we find that our appointment isn't till 2:30. Given the drama we had last appointment I was fine with being early.
*side note* While waiting in the waiting room you run into a million people. Because of the type of doc it is the disabilities of the people are usually very apparent. Today a really cute mom who's daughter had severe CP went from patient to patient introducing herself and her daughter and touching ( which I cringe thanks to the NICU mom in me) and being so nice. She sat next to Ty and asked what his diagnosis is. I told her and she was so sweet. She said she would have had no idea. That it was obvious to her that we work hard with him. Ty looked up at her and smiled and then waved at the little girl and the mom tried to get this little girls hand opened and Ty reached up and took her hand and danced with her. It was super cute..What amazing spirits they all have. *
The appointment got us in around 2:40 and only lasted about 20 minutes and we were out the door, with new appointments for botox in the works. We head out to the parking lot and head home. We stop at the grocery store for dinner and head home.
Leaving at one, getting home at 5. Day one
Tomorrow we have Physical therapy, occupational therapy and music therapy. I have to take the rest of my driving test. And some time find a way to get BACK into the dentist. The root canal apparently doesn't work because my tooth is killing me.
Wednesday we are having to head back into the city with a prescription for titanium braces and smo's. And to make it to our new speech time. Dallas also goes into Scottsdale but we only have one car. And I need to make it into the chiropractor.
Thursday is kinda a lazier day. But is our anniversary. So with all our week busy busy we are hoping to get out and have a dinner or something before we embark on our vacations. Did I mention I have to pack for 2 and make sure #3 is all set to go before Ty and I leave the valley of the sun......
Oh it makes me tired.
But 3.5 days to go. Weather better stay lower than 100......
UTAH (and San Fran for D) here we come...

Spring Break
I was not ever sure why some parents hated breaks from school. Honestly, i fugured being home with me was pretty cool. Then I becaame a parent. It is no that I don't love my child but seriously he needs school. He needs the interaction. He gets bored at home. I am boring.
The first part of spring break was pretty rough. I was sick, and then was waiting for the rest of the family to get it. I lucked out ( thanks to all those who prayed that we would not be struck with the pukes) and only i was stricken.
I spent the next part of spring break watching Tyler be just a little bit off. I spent the time worrying and worrying and finally getting him in for a med change at night. The last few nights have been much better. His sleeping meds have been uped and he seems to be out much better. I almost feel like I have my child back.
Tommorrow starts school again. I have his book bag all ready and we are purchasing our first package of school portraits for Tyler and are sending him back to school. He is in resting and seems to be ok with going to school.
I also spent the week doing some crafts. It seems that it is some what therapeutic for me.
Here are the pictures:
I made these for his room. They match his new bed spread and I want to start doing a little personalizing for him. He deserves it. I am not sure how to put these in his room. They are 2 different sizes to see what works best.
One of the things I am looking for to do his room is a natural tone bookcase and then also a woodtoy box. Either for the living room or for his room.
Any suggesetion on where to find one? Any suggestions on how to hang these cute little letters?

The Aquarium and other random doings
Part 2 of our trip is up here in Salt Lake visiting with Dallas' family and then our trip up to Shriners tomorrow. Last night we got Dallas from the airport and stayed the night at his parents house.
Today we went to the aquarium. We had a great time and Ty was able to see and touch new and interesting things. He was such a good kid and was able to touch a star fish. He played in the water with the sting rays but was not able to get all the way down to touch them. But he still had a good time in the water.

We also had Dallas birthday dinner at his favorite restaurant here in Salt Lake. We had a few friends that couldn't make it but were so SO happy that Erin was able to come. It was the first time we had met little Issac and it was great to see her there. Her and her husband are seriously some of the most amazing people I have ever met. They are the most selfless and honest and most sincere people. I truly appreciate her and her friendship and am so excited for them to have a new baby.
Tomorrow is a big day for us. I am anxious, nervous and excited to see what we can do for Tyler. I hope that he understands that we are doing it for him and that we just want him to be the best Tyler and prevent any other things from happening.

Random week with photos!
I have no idea what Grandma did to my baby but he has slept so well ( till tonight) and pretty much through the night. He has done better on the days he has had no nap and he wakes around 7 am. A huge cry from the 5 am!
Today he was so whiny by the end of the afternoon that I had him take his milk and blanket and lay with me on the floor. I was hoping it would just let him relax so he could get up and play. NOPE!! He fell asleep. As soon as he got his milk to his lips he pulled his blankie up and he was OUT!
Life is almost back to "normal." We have our last 2 therapies tomorrow ( our eye therapist and our speech therapist.) And this afternoon we have a delivery happening. Dallas and I purchased a new bed. We are so excited. I got one right before I was married from my parents but we are in need of a better one. That one has been great but we need a king sized and a pillow top. I was amazed at how expensive they were. I felt so blessed to not have to put it on credit. And I am even more excited to come home from work tomorrow and sleep in it!
Overall we have had a pretty slow week. Ty is as happy as ever. He is eating much better than he was on vacation. He is VERY opinionated lately and we have had to do JUST WHAT HE WANTS or there is no doing. He won't even eat if he hasn't chosen it to eat.
I promised a few weeks ago some photos of Ty, toilet paper and fun... so I am finally able to do it! Enjoy

This was the sweetest thing from the weekend. Lexi came up with Aunt Nicky to visit with Tyler. She wanted to help him walk so bad. She was so sweet. So she helped him walk to his walker so that he could walk. She also chased him and made him laugh so hard. She is the sweetest thing ever!

Ty was watching Tv on the Love sac at grandpa's. He thought he was a big boy! And the last one was another Horrible picture of me and a wonderful photo of Dallas.

Vacation continues
Ok so here is more of our Vacation!!
Tuesday we slept in.. well I did at least. We headed down the strip and had a great time. We walked into several casino's. We saw the botanical gardens and the gorgeous glass ceiling. It was gorgeous. We continued down toward the Venetian so that we could attend our show. We planned one eating there and heading to watch our show.
It was a longer walk than we had thought and we looked in the Venetian for a restaurant that we wanted to eat at and decided on a restaurant by Wolfgang Puck or a Italian place. Well the Italian place won and we sat down. The menu had 3 kinds of food on it and we opted for pizza but when we found out it was covered in goat cheese we decided that fancy Italian ( overpriced) goat cheese filled pizza was not our thing we told them we changed our mind and left.
We went and got our tickets to the show and asked the girl behind the counter for a "normal" place to eat. She directed us to the Grand Lux which was owned by the cheesecake factory. We had steak and shrimp scampi. It was pretty good.
So the show..... it was AMAZING! Dallas got us tickets for our anniversary. They were wonderful seats. We were fifth from the front. We were so close that at some point in the show we could feel the fire. It was AMAZING...
So what was the show...

It was so great. We were awe struck the whole time. They did a great job, costumes were great, acting was wonderful. Theatre was just awesome! It was a great anniversary present.
We took a cab back because the walking gave D blisters. I felt horrible. I bought new shoes because of work and he had crappy shoes. So I could walk forever. But a cab ride was nice. The cabbie didn't speak English and played on his cell phone the WHOLE time we were riding.
Anyway back at the hotel Dallas and I tried our hand in some slots and blackjack. Dallas is really pretty good at it and I was able to see him in action. He had a pretty good streak there as well!
I got a pretty crusty look from the pit boss and the dealer for taking the picture. I think they thought I was cheating.. I wasn't. I would have though.. just for D!
I went around looking at the sights and taking some pictures. Then headed back to the room to read and sleep. I had gotten sick with a cold. I enjoyed the time alone and quiet. And later got to snuggle with Dallas.

Wednesday we got up and went to the pool. Dallas got up before I did because he couldn't sleep. I stayed in bed cause sleeping is NEVER a problem for me. At the pool I was able to "work on my tan" which is just a fancy way of saying I got the snot burned out of my back and shoulders which I have been paying for dearly. Dallas also got burned. But tonight mine is feeling much better!! Hopefully his will soon.
The funniest thing happened at the pool! While we were there I had to go potty. ( yep my kindergarten bladder kicked in again) and I ran to the restroom. While there I stepped out and there was this BOY in the bathroom blowing his nose. The boy was probably 19. He looked totally horrified as three ladies walked out on him. When I left the bathroom the whole area around the restroom was laughing.. It was great.
After the pool we decided to spend a relaxing afternoon doing NOTHING. That's right NOTHING. We layed around talking and laughing and doing just what a vaction was meant to do. We did order a movie and got some snacks and sodas and hung out the rest of the afternoon. We went to the grand buffet and had some great prime rib and then back to bed. It ROCKED.
Thursday we got all ready and flew back to our precious little baby. It was so good to see him. He is such a cutie. That night Nicky and Lexi came out to visit Tyler. It was cute to see Lexi play with Tyler. He loved chasing her and giving her kisses and loves. She brought a camera to take a whole bunch of pictures home with her and I hope they turned out ok!
Friday was family picture day at wheeler farm. I will have to post some photos of him and the animals later but here are a few of my favorite shots throughout the day. ( Yes crys.. I am still sending them I can't figure out how to get the WHOLE file to you!)

Friday night was dinner at Braza. It is mine and Dallas' favorite restaurant in SLC. It is great. It is a Brazilian steak house. It was totally worht the overfull feeling you have when you leave.
Saturday morning was Noah's birthday party. It was such a joy to meet this little boy. He is so sweet. He smiles ALL the time. I can't help but love Crystal even more as she has struggled through the first year of special needs. It is a different world and was sad she had to come but was glad to have her with me! It was a bitter sweet moment as we thanked our Heavenly Father for Noah today and blessed him and also blessed the family who lost a little one so we could have that sweet little boy! Thanks for sharing it with us and having it early!!
Then onto the airport where I HATE some of the airlines. Not seeing that we have a million things in our hands but to add more! All in all the trip was great. We missed seeing Gma and Gpa labrum. They had other commitments and didn't come up. But it was good to see Nicky and Lexi.
It was freezing cold in Utah and we flew in leaving 60 degree weather to land in Sunny Arizona at 99 degrees. It was amazing. We were so glad to be home.
Now back to the real world!!

Full day of FUN!!
Man what an ordeal to get to Vegas. Sunday morning our flight to Utah left WITHOUT US!!! Yep.. we were still in the line getting searched. And because we have a baby and brought " liquids" we had to have our diaper bag searched. Anyway, we missed the flight but Southwest got us right on the next one and hour or so later. We arrived in Utah around 1 only to find that our bags that were suppose to arrive on the correct earlier flight had only half arrived so we had to wait and see if they were on the second flight.
We got our luggage and took off to granny and papa's house. We had a wonderful time visiting and we got in a few hours of family time. We also met Cousin Noah for the first time ( which is sad.. he is almost 1) We had been preparing Tyler for meeting Noah when we would watch Barney that had a Noah on it. But he was NOT prepared to have mom and dad hold a baby other than him and he got a little upset. Which he quickly got over when Noah tried to touch him!
Ty took to his old cat Daisy and grabbed her pretty hard. But miss Daisy was a good sport and just sat there. We ate a great dinner made by Grandma and grandpa and visited some more. Tyler fell asleep and we decided it was better to leave him while he was asleep.
We got on the plane and headed to a quiet vacation. We arrived in Vegas, caught a shuttle and checked in. We are staying in the MGM grand. We have a great room with a huge and comfy King bed. We headed into the Casino/hotel to see the stores and shops and stuff. It is a very nice hotel.
We saw the lion habitat here in the hotel and hen walked through the shops. Took Dallas to the slots and hung out together. Being the "old Married couple" we are I headed into the room while Dallas stayed out and did what he wanted and took a well needed sleep. Somewhere in the course of our trip I caught something and I am kinda not feeling up to par. I have a small sore throat that is pretty much gone now and a nice stuffy nose. So the sleep that I got was well needed.
This morning we slept in. There was no little boy ;( to wake ups up but we had a wonderful vacation to sleep in and enjoy the day. We headed outside and took a little walk down the strip where we shopped, browsed and enjoy the day.
Tonight I am heading back out after my dinner and walking around and getting some pictures and Dallas is doing his thing. I am sure I will call it a night early and read my book and have some quiet. To me that is the MOST rewarding vacation.
Next on the agenda.. a show and more site seeing. Oh and the grand pool here at the MGM.
Any suggestions of things to see and places to go?
