Tyler is doing OH so much better now that school has started. He goes in the morning and he is done just after 12. He comes out jabbering and yesterday had a HUGE meltdown when they stopped singing cause he wanted more.
I am a little disappointed that they don't have a PT at the school but us a PE instructor. I need to get more info on it before I am totally sold on the idea. The rest he gets once a week. They spend the whole day in the classroom with them.
He has worn his braces every day. At least the SMO part. Next week we will transition 2 days a week with ALL the braces but he will need his walker to go to school with him. He sometimes has a hard time keeping up with the kids when they walk into the school because he needs a hand to hold on to instead of just the rope. Today was the first day that there was actually tears shed when I dropped him off.
While we were out tonight the transportation guy called and tomorrow will be the first day of pick up. Because Ty has special needs he will be picked up 2 days a week right outside the door and 2 days a week across the street with the little girl that goes. I think Ty will like the bus I just hope the change of drivers and a new city won't cause some issues. Guess tomorrow we will see. And tomorrow is the first day since we moved in I actually have to set an alarm to get us UP to get the bus.
I also started school yesterday. It is just a course to get a national certification to do phlebotomy ( drawing blood) so I can get a job with IHC or another medical group to get some decent insurance. With Dallas home Ty is well taken care of and we are hoping just for part time. There are a few openings and some really amazing home town friends have had some great contacts for jobs. ( thanks Shannon!)
I go 3 days a week so tomorrow I am back to the grind of school. Tonight though was a relaxing fun and smiling night with Dallas. We REALLY needed a break and his sister was SO kind to come and sit for us. She did amazing and it was well worth it for us! So sad we missed Kelsey sitting but so glad we had an awesome AUNT that would be willing. ( and i know you would be willing Nicky!)
We were able to attend the Greek festival in Salt Lake and we are taking Ty on Saturday. We just hope the music isn't quite as loud OR we can get to the quiet private area in the building. It would be so much better for him! Guess we will see!

Tired with Little Updates
Ya know we are boring! I realized we don't do a lot of updating but I feel we are super super busy. There use to be a lot of preemie posts etc but we are kinda in a good place right now. We still have a lot going on but sometimes and most of the time things don't get so overwhelming. I guess that is a good thing.
So here is the best I could do for an update.
Nancy: We hired a new respite so I have a lot more time to myself. Some days it is nice but most days I miss Tyler and having my side kick with me. I was able to do some crafts this last week and I got my entire house cleaned and dejunked. It feels so good. BUT I am exhausted. We have been so sick here that I wanted the germs gone. We also got to go out with Dallas to dinner and a movie. It was fabulous. I LOVE our sitter. Kelsey is the best. I can't WAIT to have her be old enough for respite. She is great. I also got to rent a new lens and can't wait for my batteries to be recharged so I can go out during the week and really give it a try. So exciting. My first wedding shoot is coming up on Friday. Wish me Luck!!
Dallas: BUSY. That is the best way to describe him. He works so hard for me and Tyler. Since we got back from vacation he has done so much. He is currently editing a book for iphone stuff. So he is reading a lot and coding away. He is always so busy. We are so proud of him and all he does. He works so hard so we can be taken care of. He is such a good dad to Tyler. Those two laugh ALL the time.
Tyler: Is so stinking cute! The first 2.5 years were hard. VERY hard. I look back at some of the things we went through and right now I feel so calm. I am sure it wont' last and YES even with all the stuff we have going on I feel in a good place with everything.
This next week we are being evaluated for Apraxia of speech. While I use to freak out about some of the stuff we have to do or diagnosis that we get, this time I am not. I guess because at this point a name to the problem may or may not get us a little more help to get him talking.
Some things we have noticed since vacation is his desire to communicate. Because he tries so hard he seems to be getting his point across a little bit better. He is using the signs he knows and is using them correctly. He is using them without prompting and we seem to get what he wants really well. We have gotten one or two syllables out of him that weren't there before so we feel very encouraged.
He sat on the potty a few times the last few days but when we ask him if he needs to go he says no. We will get there. I know he is 4 and should be already we are so proud of all he does. He comes in the bathroom and gets his book and sits down and reads while he is on the toilet. So cute. We noticed how hard it is for him to get his pants down himself which is kinda a hindrance to using the potty but we did get Thomas undies on one night. Its a start.
School stars again in a few weeks and we start swimming lessons till the middle of October tomorrow. Its his first one alone. Should be interesting. He is a fish.
As a family we are spending a lot more time together and we love it. I love staying home. So worth it. I am hoping to get together with a old college friend. She seems to have hit the always getting bad news stage. We are enjoying the cool weather inside but the outside is starting to hit the over hundreds.
Everything else is.... well WONDERFUL! ( Even with bad luck!)

Is it really only Tuesday?
This weekend was so nice. Me and Dallas went on a date on Friday and had such a good time. I thought " wow, what a great way to start the weekend and the week!" Dallas got his Christmas present on Friday night and we were looking for a cord. We walked around San Tan Mall and did a little window shopping/ clothes shopping. We had Dinner at a nice little brewery/ sports bar place. Ty was so good and loved all the Christmas lights. We got a Christmas tree and the house was clean. At the end of Saturday I really was looking forward to the week.Sunday I worked and I got home in time to put my sweet baby to sleep. I got his meds and he really fought me. That is so not normal for him. I got him to take a little bit and went in and held him for a bit and cuddle cause I didn't see him for a while. Put him in bed and about 2 hours later he was crying.
Since we put him in a toddler bed and he can get out him crying is a weird occurrence. Usually he just gets out of bed and comes in with us. But that night he cried. I went in their picked him up and he threw up. All over me. I noticed he had a fever but wasn't sure what it was.
We gave him a bath and put him back to bed. An hour or so later he screamed again. He had thrown up in bed and was all dirty. I undressed him and put him in with me and we had a pretty rough night of it. He was up every 30 minutes crying and although we had no more puking it was pretty exhausting. We had the screen saver/ tv on so that it acted as a night light and around 4 he decided he was all done sleeping and he wanted a movie. I put one in because of total desperation for some sleep. Finally at six I asked Dallas to take over for me and I got a few hours of sleep. I was so tired all day.
He was pretty good most of the day and we had no more puking episodes but he was really whiny. Because he didn't feel good I made him take a nap and he woke up CRABBY and whiny. I have no idea what his deal was.
We got in the shower and he perked up. But he was a perfect kid for his dad so I hope it is on the upswing and we are good for tomorrow.
I worked and am not feeling the top of the line either. Like I am getting a bladder infection or something and I am super dehydrated. I am tired to.
Tomorrow ( Tuesday) Tyler has his hearing test at the special ENT that does just hearing and no tonsils and stuff.
Wednesday I have to remember to call for Jury duty and Thursday is Thanksgiving. Friday is black Friday and there is ONE item on our secret blitz I want but am waiting to see if it is worth it to get up early and then spend all day at Jury duty. Not sure if I can stay awake all day!
So that is our week... in a Nutshell.
Please pray for Tyler that he feels better and it is just a bug and nothing more. It scares me to death that he doesn't come with a flashing sign when it is something bigger. I never know when to over react or stay cool... I hate shunts!

You know those amazing weeks......
Well it was definitely a good one. We had a amazing week this week and nothing horribly spectacular happened. No winning lottery ticket. No wild and crazy parties. Just good old fashioned family fun!!
Our new friends in our ward had us over for a play date this week. It was so fun to see Ty interact and be considered the "normal" kid. We had Caden's developmental specialist there ad had another kid with Autism there. Ty was trying to interact with them but because of their "issues" they wouldn't. He had such a good time with Caden when he played ball with him. They are so cute! We are excited for a play date next week and a birthday party on Saturday.
Tuesday we had a eye exam and a pediatrician visit for the go ahead on his dental work. The ped visit was first. WE had talked about just doing his well "baby" visit but found that there was NOTHING until the middle of August. Well I want his teeth done before school so I told her that "since there is nothing till August I guess we are sick!" I don't' think the nurse was impressed but I knew it would be fine with the Doc. He came in asking what was wrong with Ty and I said nothing. And we had his Well "baby" exam and we got the ok for his dental work.
The eye exam was a tough one. We had to dilate Ty's eyes and that makes for a LONG visit. We went to Target and hit up the dollar section and got some new toys including a ball and he handled it really well. The good news is.. He still has eyes. The other news is not much has changed. They are watching one of his eyes for strabismus but I don't think it is. But we will see. I can order a new pair of glasses if I think it is necessary right now. His last pair is still going but will soon need a new one if he continues ripping them of his face.
Physical therapy was kinda blah this week. Ty was not a happy dude. He cried through the whole thing except when we were leaving and going. He likes to push the buttons on the elevator and he only gets to do it if he uses his walker. So he was a happy kid.
I also decided to sign Ty up for swimming lessons. He loves the water and he loves that he can move around. So Thursday we headed to Aqua Tots for his lesson. When we got there it was canceled. Some little kid had an "incident" in the pool and it was closed. BUT don't worry... Makeup lesson the next day. ( incident is not pee-pee)
When I pulled back into the drive way with Ty and us not being able to go swimming he was so upset. HE started to cry until I told him we had bought him soda. He was so sad. But his dad made him feel much better.
Friday was a great day. We went and did our makeup swimming lesson. He goes under the water. He blows bubbles. He jumps in the pool. He floats on his back. He screams with Joy, he kicks his legs. He splashes water all over. He is in heaven. And he is sad when he has to get out. He LOVES the water. I can't wait till he turns three in order for him to get water therapy ( that can't be taken away) and music therapy.
I ran a few errand and mailed some stuff. So be waiting everyone who has stuff coming. Lily, mom, crystal and Barrett. BUT Barrett, yours is going to mom since I never got a email with your address.
Tonight Dallas and I went on a amazing night out together. We had reservation at Rio Sabor and ate an amazing dinner. We browsed a few bookstores before heading over to ASU area for a Comedy Show. We have never done one together so we decided it was different and we got tickets. We saw Josh Blue. He is the winner from last seasons last comic standing. He also has cerebral palsy and was just a riot and we laughed so hard. He is so funny and well worth waiting for.
Spending time with Dallas is so much fun and a well needed break from "real Life" and spend a night remembering why you fell in love.
On Another note. I came home from work last week ( Saturday I believe) and Dallas wouldn't let me in his office and sent me in to take a bath. I was a little "pissed" and spent the time in the tub searching for clues in our various bank accounts for what he happened to purchase as a "surprise" Well, after my bath he gave me my gift. A brand new Mac book. I LOVE IT!! I more than love it. I am a true convert to Apple. I am so proud of Dallas and how great he is. He is doing so well with his new business. I am so glad we have been paying off our stuff and getting out of debt and then to be able to buy without going further into debt. He is working so hard and I love him so much.
Here is to next week. Hoping we can make is as great as this week.
