Rocks!

<span class=

Our neighbor has a rock bed. We spend a lot of time over there. And she just smiles.
One day we are throwing them into our yard. The next time we are throwing them back into her bed.

<span class=

With a rock filled yard Tyler is in rock throwing heaven

<span class=

The bubbles and rocks make for a VERY nice afternoon.....
If only it wasn't so COLD!

<span class=

But all in all... we are all boy and we like to throw the rocks!!

The neighbor kids

So while the last post was the upper at how well Ty is doing here comes the DOWNWARD spiral we call the roller coaster. Though I am proud to say it didn't sting to bad.

Ty loves going outside. LOVES it. He would spend all day out there. He doesn't realize that he is freezing and his hands are falling off. He would stay out.
And stay out he does!

When he hears the kids up the street he RUNS to them. He does. He takes off and heads up the street. And he jumps in and he does what he can. And then he comes back.

Today Elle across the street saw Tyler out playing and she wanted to play with him. I was so excited. Elle talks for Tyler. Like her little buddy. Elle knows that talking is hard for him so she does it for him. It is REALLY cute. When other girl with Elle got bored she made Elle leave. And Ty was left to himself. With his rocks. Elle Came back later and said she forgot to hug him. Then she ran back to her house.

I wish so badly that he had a playmate. I wish he was "normal" enough to be sent out the door and to find a neighbor kid to play with that I don't have to stand outside like the mother translating his every word.

But alas. We were left alone blowing bubbles and throwing rocks.

Snowboob

Met Snowboob!
She is Tyler's newest friend.

As we were putting together "things" to make a snow man face We came up with random and some what original things and Tyler decided to tell us where they all go.
The mouth is a piece to connect 4 that is shaped like a smile. The nose, and eyes are heart shaped slinkies and the arms are heart straws.

The front is 2 pop beads Ty affectionately called BOOBS and stuck them right in!

The heart was taken from my valentine craft and set in perfect view .

And of course Barney does get in on the action.

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss and other tales of the Preschool world

So last week was Dr. Seuss birthday. I am SURE you all remembered and spent days honoring our beloved green eggs and ham Man.
NO! you didn't....
No Fail... Tyler DID!!!

Ty got off the bus looking like this Last week.....

<span class=

and I have kindly pointed out the "wrongs" in this photo!
1) The "W" sit... while not "wrong" per se but you see he was NEVER suppose to do this. And now we can thank Phenol and botox and casting to get our kid to sit in this awkward and detrimental position. HOORAY!
2) The sticker: Well you see, we were NOT visitors of Shriners that day. But Barney the beloved was wearing a sticker and Tyler JUST HAD to have it. So we sported Visitor on our clothes from Shriners for 2 days.
3) my dirt: well that would be.. MY DIRT. Which will more than happily disappear in the next few days as I clean carpets THANKS to my Dad!! ( thanks dad..)
4) my mess.... well that is clothes of the T that have yet to make it up the stairs. HOORAY for my amazing house keeping skills.

BUT most importantly... do you see on our Sensory filled head a HAT!!!!!! That hat stayed on till bath time. Where is was retired in glory.
And since Preschool repeats on WED what they did on Tuesday for activity we got ANOTHER one the next day. He LOVES it.

Here he is reading his book... with his Hat... He is a really good kid!

<span class=

Then today it was such a NICE day outside that we spent most of the afternoon doing things in the garage and cars. I scrubbed the inside of the jeep out and Ty decided he would help the neighbor with her rock bed.
<span class=
Poor kid doesn't get that we can't throw every rock we see. His whole yard USE to be a rock bed. But now we leave GAPPING wholes where rocks belong. Poor lady!

No worries... we put them all in buckets and took them over and poured them out. 2 big bucket full of rocks.
<span class=

And after the rocks were put away he took off up the street where he heard kids playing and he stayed there. Glad I was out so I could see him run away!

I think he needs a friend !

The Winter

As most of you know I am back to being an official STAY AT HOME MOM! That's right. My amazingly awesome job consists of Tyler, cleaning, laundry a few meals every now and again ( ugh) and being a wife to the most amazing man EVER!

The only problem is it is Winter.

For the last 2 years we have spent the Winter in sure bliss as far as weather and temperature is concerned. ( I am not complaining of the cold I promise) It is hard going from spending every single day a few times a day in the HOT HOT pool to the temps that we are in right now. Last year we were still in the High 60's low 70's and every now and then MAYBE 50's but it was "spend the time at the park weather." We are currently struggling A LOT with activities to do.

He goes to Shriner's Hospital every Monday so pretty much the whole day is spent getting there, playing, working and crying. The ride home usually puts him to sleep. Once home only a few hours till Dad gets home. So cleaning up the mess and "deoverloading."

Tuesday - Friday he is in school half a day. Its that "other half" of the day that we are struggling. The snow has hindered the park and I am sadly disappointed that all indoor activities are not overly appropriate for Ty just yet ( or are so germ ridden that we have to abstain for now) We spent a little time in the pool this week and if I wasn't currently "sick" would might think of going tomorrow.

If anyone out there knows of any good activities that are indoor PLEASE let me know?

Our Sunday Afternoon

Today just plain out sucked. I half wished we could have a do over but since Time travel is not real I will have to deal with MOVE ON Travel.

This morning my sweet little boy woke around 5 am where he graciously came in to sleep with mom. We have it down now. I move my pillow over and Ty gets the middle, I turn my back on his so he won't stay awake and I PRAYER he goes back to sleep. It didn't happen but he nicely and very cutely gave me a BIG kiss after kicking my privates a dozen times with his spastic toes and me getting more and more angry with each muscle tormenting kick.

After the big kiss he signed food, and smacked another one on my! Gave in and took him downstairs. Made him french toast sticks and sat him on a towel to not lose the integrity of my carpet and because I was to asleep to make him "dip" at the table.

I was allowed to lay down for about half a hour before we got ready for church. Which was the same time that Dallas informed me his throat was on fire and he was not feeling well.

GREAT! Not to be the germ people at church but WE are not them. We stay home at signs of sickness. instead, I worked at picking you the house and hanging up clothes and doing laundry. The same stuff I do every day while also trying to keep Tyler entertained.

Finally right before noon Ty wants to go outside. Which I think THANK YOU LORD! He wants to do something. I wake up Dallas who has been asleep for awhile in hopes that by having him GET UP he will sleep tonight . So he went out and sat with us on the steps. I brought in a few boxes and came back out to find Ty and Dallas.... doing this......
, utah

Dallas took Ty off the cement to try out his grass legs and we got this :
<span class=
The new stash of rocks is from our Neighbors yard and school. We were lacking in the rock department so I didn't think anyone would notice. So we stocked up!

<span class=
Dallas went in to lay down after not feeling so hot and Tyler got more and more daring. He went and found himself a BIRD. It was a nice bird that liked to eat ROCKS.. It didn't make any sound and it almost got tipped over!
<span class=I
Ty and this bird were all talk and all serious!
<span class=

And in the talk I am pretty sure Rock bird said he was Hungry!
<span class=
We spent the rest of the day in an out and blowing bubbles and eating pizza and being chased by a vacuum. I would have liked the day of rest at the church but tomorrow is another day a new beginning.

Ty doesn't have school on Monday so we are thinking of doing a mom activity if anyone wants to join us. Something small like the park, or library story hour ( the kids library here has 2 hours tomorrow) or the pool in the afternoon. Maybe a trip to the farm at thanksgiving point or even cabellas and the fish or the aquarium. We have lots of Mondays to see how it will all go. Anyone game?

The adventures in toddlerhood.... with a smile!

Watch out!! Here come Tyler. He can do what ever other 3 years olds can do. It takes him longer and he might fall but here he comes.

On Friday I weeded the front yard. He was out playing as I did it. He was all over the place. Our front yard is a typical one for Arizona but for the rest of the world we would be nuts. It's all rocks. And now it is void of most of its weeds.

Ty is not the best at keeping his footing and has a tendency to be, um well Clumsy. You can blame it on the CP or whatever but he is good at falling. He is even better at getting back up. He has been getting very brave.

As his bravery increased Friday he decided to join the ranks of Toddlers everywhere and join in the running in the street. I was ECSTATIC. He usually doesn't go off to far but today he was heading across the street... I grabbed my camera. The slide show is how it all came about.

We ended his adventures climbing up to the window, playing in the window sill and then going inside. He was filthy dirty but loved every second of it

This last week he has being going non stop and the only time he gets a break is when we are driving. It has made for longer sleep In's in the morning ( 7:30 am) and for wonderful happy kid all day.

He is a great kid and has done an amazing job of being back to himself and keeping me loving my job as a mom.
