Spring Break-More stuff

We went to the spring break farm time at Superstition farms. We rode on hay rides, tried weird flavored milk, ice cream and feed the animals. We watched a cow have a baby, a 2 hour old cow and more! The best part was riding the horse!!

Oh, and the farm workers were and are amazing with Tyler. One remembered us from Santa days and came over to let him touch a chicken. He was in heaven!

Ty rode and rode. But he had to have a hat on. HE was a awesome cowboy.
 Us on the hay ride.
Our cow that wasn’t afraid of us.
 Grayson thought this was awesome!

Grayson and his ability to do whatever he wants!
Ty walked on up to have the bunny lick him~
The hen, they brought out for Ty to touch.

Our HUGE Adventure-

I have a bit of a anxiety problem when it comes to trying new things. Plus, a lot of time if I plan something with someone, I sometimes flake because I get so NERVOUS. If I have never been to someplace I don't know what things I need to do to adapt it to Tyler. Hence the anxiety.

Last week my mom and her sister Linda had lunch at the Trellis Cafe and me and my sister joined ( AND my dad) I should have gone back and got D and T but the lunch was great with a gorgeous view. So I decided I really wanted to try the Gardens splash pad for Tyler.

So Friday I made a special bag for him and got everything all set. I got him dressed and asked him if he wanted to go on a HUGE adventure ( from the little Einsteins.) He was SOOOOOO excited.

I had thought that maybe we would be able to see the rest of the gardens but I didn't get a chance to clean out the stroller so I planned just the splash pad. When we got there Ty was a little nervous but he quickly warmed up!

The ark is REALLY cute. He was able to play with a bunch of kids and he finally ventured out and would go around and around the ark. He had a great time.

What I LOVED? I loved that he could go in there on his own, play and not need me right by his side. I sat on the ground and watched for a while, took a few pictures and then sat on a rock and read a book in the shade.

After about 2.5 hours Ty decided he was done. By this time it was 1 and so we left to go eat. Ty played at the play place for a while and then we were really done. So we headed home.

Ty did so well. I can't wait to take him again and to try the other stuff. They have a farm, dinosaur museum and caves and gardens. Of course some of them require getting past the splash pad!

Next big adventure: dinosaur day!

Valentines And Preschool

Tyler is a lucky kid! He gets to have 2 parties for school. You see there are 2 sessions on the special people preschool. Depending on what you qualify for and need depends on when you go. A majority go 2 days a weeks ( generally Tuesday/ Thursday because those are speech days) But our luck and incredibly handsome MIRACLE and HERO goes to ALL 4. He gets to experience PT, OT, Speech, adaptive PT and vision. So every single person who comes to their class for extra therapy is there for Tyler. So really the other kids are getting MORE for the time :) So Our kid is REALLY delayed that we have him chuck full of people to *help* him be better. And all the other kids benefit to!

Anyway, valentines is coming up so the Tues/Thurs class is having their party and on Friday the Wed/Fri. are having theirs. We belong to both so double team the valentines.

We decided to do something homemade along with the cards so we made red rice krispie treats shaped as hearts.

In pictures :

I make my rice treats in the Microwave instead of my mom's way of on the stove. There are several reasons. One, it takes longer and 2 I don't know how to do it that way without burning something. 2-3 minutes in the microwave with half a stick of butter and a bag of marshmallows. Stir after 2 minutes or so and put it back in for the remainder of the time. It will be boiling. I PAM ( she is my best friend) spray my spatula so it doesn't stick to anything. Add your red food coloring to the marshmallows to your liking.

<span class=

Add six cups of Rice krispies to your bowl and mix, mix, mix till it is done.
Put in a MEDIUM sized cake pan. Medium because the regular size makes the treats a little thin and who wants to eat thin when you can eat YUMMY more. I chose the dark red cutter because it is metal and I used Pam once again to help out! ( Pam and I are FRIENDS!)

<span class=

I put them on a clean pan to keep them out of the way and allow them to get hard. Only Rice Krispie with JUST butter and marshmallows will harden a little. I have another recipe that I will be making tomorrow for the rest of the family that have Peanut Butter in it. School isn't the safest place for PB!

<span class=
I found these amazingly cute zip lock baggies at the dollar store all ready decorated with the cute hearts. It saved me some time by having to tie a ribbon and make a label. So in they went. One batch using the medium pan made about 17 hearts. Larger cutters only yield about 8.

And the end result is enough for both classes. We sent off Max and Morgan's but they didn't get the rice treats ( they got scrumptious other stuff) and we will have to see if we can deliver the rest. It might be nice to have Tyler give service by giving to others.

So that is our Valentine day! What did you do? We also have cute mickey mouse cards coming.. So beware!!!!!

*For the Labrum's in my hormonal state of being I sent 2 packages on purpose but I may not have gotten the right name on the package. They are the same but a Fast Mickey card swap might be in order... please forgive me.*

A full Schedule

I was sitting down with Dallas yesterday and making a schedule to make sure that we had coverage of parental duties where needed and we realized we are FULL! There is not ONE DAY now till Christmas that we aren't needed somewhere.

For example, mommy is not feeling well today ( Mac trucks hit her in her sleep) and when she went in at 6 to find out why Ty was crying in his bed I kindly reminded him that it was still night time and we both woke to a honking school bus. So he missed school but had a DDD meeting and a doctors appointment for clearance for his procedure NEXT week.

Tomorrow we have therapy and Friday speech. Those are constant appointments. At least it keeps us busy!

Next week is a big week. Tyler is having his teeth done on Wednesday. Dallas can't get off so I am on my own. First one EVER that he has had to miss.

On the 23rd we are having his Botox consult and meet his rehab docs for the first time. It should be interesting and I am preparing to have LOTS of questions and information.

On the 20th we are having family pictures and going to zoo lights.

So being busy isn't all bad.

Ty is getting so big. He is getting around a ton and doing so much more than expected. We push him to walk like a big boy all the time and he has finally stopped "wearing out" his pj bottoms.

On yet another happy note we have "official" dates for coming to Utah.. not time just dates!

The fall weather

I am so excited for the cooler weather and for Christmas. Yes, hell is freezing over because I, Nancy Ann Brown, am excited for Christmas.

I have tons of little activities planned and can't wait to take Tyler. For the last year we have been pretty consistent with his bed time I am willing to break the bedtime routine and to take him to a few of the night activities the City has to offer.

First, the stinky farm off the freeway ( I have NO idea the real name, but if you live here or have visited you know what I am talking about) has tours and they are taking Tyler on one this fall/winter. They are willing to make accommodations for him and I am super excited.

Hope kids is holding a pretty cool Christmas show that has me excited. It will have Aerial silk artists, 40 ft singing Christmas tree, Broadway-style musical, full orchestra & choir, cast of hundreds, live exotic animals including elephants and camels, flying angels, living nativity scene, toy parade and much, much more!! ( that was from the email invite.) Sounds fun huh!

Then there is the zoo! It is to hot to go in the summer so we are going to go in the winter. They also have zoo lights. I am excited.

Then you have the normal stuff, like trees, presents and Santa. Tyler has always been given presents but never figured out that presents are cool. Since his birthday and everything that came UPS or through the mail, any time a package arrives he sits on his knees and gets so excited he can hardly stand it. So hopefully he will have a good time opening up presents.

We are buying a new tree and me and Tyler picked out ornaments tonight. We are still looking for a few things for the tree and a new tree skirt. Tomorrow I am going to be looking at gifts and getting ready to pick up a few new things. Tyler needs more shorts ( sad but we are still buying shorts) and then stuff for Dallas.

The only downfall...24 hour Christmas music and the mean nasty people who come through shopping.
