Happy Birthday!

Today is my best friends birthday. He is the MOST amazing best friend a girl could ask for. I honestly feel like I am the most luckiest person in the world. Here are a few reason why I love this man!

He is Tyler's Hero. His best bud. MY best friend.
A protector of all things. His strong arms and hands are always ready to do the protecting.
He has gracefully lived up to the challenge of having a special kiddo. He has learned how to move him, help him and make him be better. Watching him father this special little guy has made my love grow TEN fold.
After shunt surgery placement it was HARD. Tyler was never happy. He was crying all the time. I was losing my patience. This picture captures them perfect. He is so calm, gently and caring no matter what. They have a look about both of them. When they are together my heart skips a few beats.
He is my best friend. My world. And he holds OUR world in his hands. I couldn't ask for a better partner in life than Dallas. I thank my Heavenly Father for giving me Dallas EVERY single day.

Dallas is unselfish. He always has been. He always puts Tyler and I first.

After we moved to Arizona we were solely relying on each other. There were times that he would come home only to work all night to get his business going. In fact he STILL does that. He got a job here in Utah because he was unselfish. He has worked hard enough in the last 4 years of our marriage to keep me home with Tyler. He has put so much extra effort in that he has made a successful business and we ALWAYS have what we need.

Now back in Utah he is even more my best friend. There is not a moment that goes by that I don't miss him when he is gone to work. He is there when I need a hug or a sounding board or a place to vent my frustrations and anger.

He is Handsome. Oh is he handsome. I smile when I look at him. I LOVE his dimples. I love the way he looks at me and smiles. I love when he taps me on the shoulder to smile at something that Tyler is doing. When I look into the eyes of my child, though they are blue like mine the soul is that of Dallas. It is Caring, loving and unselfish to!

He is supportive. His house is looking like a craft store and he NEVER complains because he says it makes me happy. During my Grandfathers funeral he was there holding my hand and giving me comfort when I was sad.

He is an amazing father. Though all circumstances were not in our control when we were in the NICU he has proved time and time again that he is the best father that I could ask for my child(ren). He has proven that he will step out of his comfort zone to be there for me and our child in any way he can.

He trusts me. As a wife and mother he trusts my gut instinct. A few times it has failed us but he never loses that trust in me. He always listens when I say something isn't right.

Most of all he is mine for Eternity. No matter what happens in this life he is mine in the next. He is a strong and worthy priesthood holder in my home. He is loving, caring, sweet, gentle, understanding, protective, a father and a provider and most of all he is mine.

D, I love you so much and hope that you have a wonderful day. I can't thank you enough for traveling this journey with me. I love you... even without lap band :)

Day of Thanks

What a day of reflection and Thanksgiving. I can't fully express my thoughts tonight to truly show what I feel. But I want to try. At least for my family to read and me to remember.

I am SO thankful for Dallas. He has changed my whole life. From the first day that he loved me he changed me. Nothing beats knowing everyday that he loves me and that he TELLS me. He tells me every day I am beautiful and because he loves me so well I feel it.

I am thankful that he is a good dad. That he loves Tyler and is such a support to both of us. He is very encouraging and really wants what is best for him. He works so hard for our family and he is my best friend.

I am so thankful for Tyler. So many amazing things have happened since he came into our family. He is the MOST most amazing special spirit I know. He works so hard to do the things that I take for granted. He has accomplished more and over come more in his 4 years than I and most people ever have. In the last 2 months he has soared with his language and communication. Because of that, other people are seeing just how smart he is. He makes me smile EVERY DAY. He has the most contagious laugh and the most gigantic spirit.

I am thankful for what he has become and look forward to the things he will accomplish. I am thankful for the team of doctors we have that work so hard to get him being his best and so thankful for the team of therapists that help him on his way.

Which leads me to my next thankful. I am thankful for my family and for the support that they have offered. Though sometimes we are at odds with what we think others should do overall its all about Family. It is about the caring and supporting of each other regardless of the circumstances.

I am thankful for Dallas' family. I am thankful for his parents raising such a great person. I am thankful for their support and love. I am hoping as we continue through the year that things will keep getting better and we can continue to be thankful for each other.

I am thankful for my friends. I have some great friends that are so supportive. I am thankful for how much they care about me and my family. I am thankful for those who have come into my life, if even for a season, I have learned from all of them.

Last but not least I am thankful for my faith and for the Savior. Learning and understanding the atonement of Jesus Christ and doing my best to live up to what I have been taught. Because of my Savior I have all the other things above.

Because of the of that I am the luckiest Girl in the entire world.

An update

My mom "claims" that I don't update but I must confess, I update the most out of all of my sisters/sisterinlaws and even my own MOTHER! So there.

Saturday was a good day. Ty has been getting up several times in the night and coming into our room. He has been doing this off and on for about 6 months. And if we all want to face reality for about 4 years. It makes for a crabby day for mom because I don't get very good sleep from about 3 am on. But he is up for the day bright and early. Yesterday was no exception. We hustled around and picked up the house and hung out. Tyler and I sent Dallas off to the meat store and we moved a few things around in the Garage to finally get a car into it ( which on a side note our 2 car garage doesn't really fit 2 cars. Even with all boxes gone... boo) Ty found a football amidst the boxes and went around the yard throwing the football saying "hike." He would try and get it stuck in the tree in our neighbors yard so he could make the lemons fall down ( like on the super sleuths.)

After Dallas got home Tyler wanted to drive the car. Yes.. He wanted to sit in the car and pretend to drive. So we let him. He put on his seat belt moved and pushed every button and lever and LOVED it.

We went out back and played with a big ball and he threw it around, chased and fell all over the grass and lawn. He loved it and we couldn't get him to come in. Dallas was cooking us dinner on the grill and it was time to eat so we went in. Ty sat on the chair anxiously awaiting his bites of steak. As long as he had ketchup on it he wouldn't care.

After dinner he asked to go back outside in the garage. I wasn't sure why so I opened the door and went about my business. Sure enough he wanted to get in the car. To cute! Dallas sat with him while he was driving and he had a good time!

Throughout the last week I have had a chance to read and reflect on some controversial subjects. One common thing that you hear is I wouldn't change anything about my child. As I have been the care giver of Tyler and have not been able to have respite and it is my responsibility I have decided that I don't like that phrase. My reasoning is that I WOULD change him. Meaning I would change that things are hard for him. That his body doesn't work like he wants it to. He can't express himself. What I WOULDN'T change is his spirit and his personality. That I would never change. BUT I would change that things are hard for him.

Because things are hard for him it takes an emotional toll on everything around us. Ty is a great kid, but he whines and hangs on mom all the time. If he is scared or upset he hangs on mom. If he wants something it is mom. He will literally walk past Dallas to come all the way up stairs to have me do it. I know everyone is thinking it is a mom thing but from what I have seen that tends to slow down a little around 2. His has increased. His dependency on me has increased as I am the only one that can explain what he needs fully. His dad can, but as a general rule I am his care giver and so without his mom he can't express himself or have his needs be met.

Dallas knows that the whining seems to only happen when I am around. It takes a toll on me emotionally. The joys of having him is things I can't or wouldn't want to give up. There are just a million things that I would like to explain better ( without judgment or being negative ) It is something that I am really trying to find a way to do.

Anyway, that is our update. In 24 hours I have a 4 year old so stay tuned for some of our 4 year highlights.

Happy Fathers Day

I wanted to take the time to wish Dallas a happy fathers day. I was hoping to have made a wonderful meal, cleaned the house from top to bottom and waited on him hand and foot. Instead we are all getting better from the swine flu.

I did want to take the time to share with everyone just how amazing he is. From the day that I met him he was always so kind and gentle. He has always held me to the highest standard and treated me like a princess. He has never said a harsh word, never lied to me, and never not provided for me and Tyler. All of our needs and always our wants are taken care of.

He has cleaned up more than his fair share of sickness, from both me and Tyler and he always does more than his fair share of the work. I honestly don't know how he puts up with me.

Tyler lights up when Dallas comes into the room. He loves Dallas so much. Every night Tyler watches for Dallas to see if he will chase him into the bathroom in time for his bath. He is always and has always told Dallas all about his day even when we can't understand what he has to say. Dallas has been patient with Tyler and is constantly helping us be better with his care. He never complains when he has to go to the yucky appointments where he has to hold Tyler down, or when I need his strength to just get me through. Thank you for being a wonderful priesthood holder. Thank you for giving us blessings when we need the strength.
Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would find someone as wonderful as you. Never in my wildest dreams would I ever love anyone like I love you. I love you so much. Thank you for making me a mom. Thank you for believing in me and believing in our family. Thank you for being a wonderful father, husband and best friend. We couldn't have asked for a better.
* a special fathers day wish to both our fathers. Without you and your example of what fathers should be we wouldn't be where we are. Happy Fathers day to Barrett and Shane as well. Happy Fathers day.*

Busy days!

With my baby being back in his good spirits ( sort of) we are off and running. Ty still thinks that Mom is a must have at every room he decides to go into. I don't mind and I have tried super hard to have the patience and to try and understand what it is he is doing and wanting.

As we were running errands I got wind of an awesome park in a development that had to stop building because of our amazing economy. BUT the park was built first and it is great. Anyway we went there last night and I promised Tyler we would take Dallas today.

So today Tyler went to school and we ran an errand and my Visiting teachers came over. After that we were headed off to the park. The rest ... Speaks for its self.

The last pictures is my favorite. THe man I married is so gentle, loving and caring. Look at the softness he has as he helps Ty up that first big step. He lovingly does so many things with our son.

Happy Birthay Lori

Thursday was my Mother in Laws birthday. I was slow blogging and have been busy on my other site. Sometimes I get a little caught up.

I met this incredible woman a little over 3 years ago. But she was a part of my life since before that. You see, she was busy raising my husband to be the best husband anyone could ever ask for.

Lori is the sweetest, loving, gently, caring and best mother in law anyone could ask for. I would even stretch as far as calling her mom.

Lori raised Dallas with a WHOLE bunch of girls. She raised him to be loving and caring. She taught him love and respect. She also taught him to be a wonderful husband.

When I met Lori she was so sweet. I had been dating Dallas a few weeks and it was Easter. She was sweet enough to have thought about me and gave me a Easter Basket. Dallas and I were engaged soon after and she has always been supportive of all we have embarked on.

She is a wonderful grandma and loves Tyler so much. There were many times that I couldn't have made it this far without her help. Many days she would come and just hold him so I could get some sleep. I respected her the morning she came up when Ty was so sick and needed Emergency brain surgery. She was there to help. She was almost called and begged to come down during this last brain surgery.

So, to that Happy Birthday Grandma Brown. We love you and hope you had a wonderful day. We wish we could have been there to help but hope you celebrated well. Enjoy a big 8x10 dose of the cutest boys on the planet.

Its 3 am and where is my hubby?

At the At&t store waiting in line for a new iphone. Rememeber THIS! well I do!! He was such a happy kid in the candy store when he got that phone. He is just as excited tonight.

I just wanted to let him know that we are so proud of him and we think that he is the best dad and provider. He makes me smile. I was able to spend some nice quiet time tonight with him outside in the rain and I truly truly think he is the worlds sweetest person.

Today he even took his little buddy Tyler out to "sit" with him and they spent a few hours sitting waiting for the Iphone. They were so cute.

I am glad that he will be home early tommorow. Maybe after he gets a nap I can get one to! I am off to sleep with a toddler in my bed.

..............Stay tuned for a update of FUN from today....... Oh and the dentist.............YUCK!
