A Special Delivery

Tyler has some SPECIAL friends in California. 3 of them ( maybe more! One of them has big ears and wears Red!) But he got the most incredible gift for his birthday.

On Saturday we had Tyler's party. He was SO excited. He talked about his birthday LITERALLY all week. He has never talked for any other holiday so we really made sure that he understood. He totally got it.

A little bit before his birthday my former mission companion, Amber, and her twin sister Robin said they wanted to get Tyler a gift. They came to visit Tyler in August. They adore him and he loves them. The only thing I could think of was some Mickey Mouse Ears. Amber said she had the perfect idea and then she texted and said she had overnighted a package for Tyler.

Saturday it arrived in True Amber fashion. Cute and red with Mickey Mouse EVERYWHERE!

Dallas helped Tyler open the package and the whole time he kept saying " Oh my goodness!" It was super cute. I wish I had pressed record. He kept asking Dallas to " open Dad-e" and he waited, SUPER excited. Inside was the cutest Mickey Mouse ears. He was SOOOOO happy!

He kept really still so he didn't make the ears come off. He would dance around and say " Oh my goodness, Oh my goodness!"

He got a SIGNED Mickey Mouse postcard RIGHT from Mickey Mouse himself. Amber and Robin told Mickey Mouse about how much of a Miracle Tyler was and so Tyler became the recipient of a post card.

He got a few other goodies including Mickey Mouse clothes and some Birthday pins that he wore all day.
He had such a great time opening the box from them. He was so proud of his new hat and wanted to look in the mirror.

We ended the day with family coming over for a little party. All his cousins that live in Utah were here and we horribly missed Max and Morgan and can't WAIT till we have a birthday with them ( in a YEAR!!) It meant a lot to Dallas and I that people came.
Tyler also had Erin and Issac over. Issac is the little brother of the cutest little Angel Girlfriend a little boy could have. We were VERY thankful that Erin and Bryce are a part of our family. Though we don't get together near enough, we LOVED having them there. Issac helped Tyler open his presents when Ty was having a meltdown. ( Oh and Erin, we have read the sticker book a MILLION times.)

His birthday cake was Mickey Beach and they were great cupcakes. He got to pick it out himself and has asked for a birthday cake all weekend. Luckily there were some left over so we could hand it on over.

Today, he had cupcakes at school with Mickey Mouse toothpicks and stickers for his friends. Later we had a play date with Hope Kids and had a wonderful time.

Tomorrow, the CIRCUS. Tyler has talked about it all DAY. He even had a meltdown on the way home from the play date. He wanted to go to the Circus. The tickets include a preshow on the floor with the performers. I hope that it goes well but we are SOOO excited.

Birthday Party!

This weekend we had Tyler's birthday party. It turned out pretty good. We were so thankful to be close to family this year and was glad that the family that made it could come.

Ty was a little more on the mean side Friday night and Saturday he was a little off but we didn't figure out why till a little later. He has some how caught a cold. I am sure it was from school but we could have been carrying some little bug. (Had we known we would have canceled.) But need less to say we had a good time and hopefully everyone washed their hands ( and I informed all guests we were boogery as a nice gesture)

The week was a really good one and we were so excited to go get Tyler's cake on Saturday morning. We had him watching Barney Birthday for a week so he would "get" birthday's. We bought a sheet cake to feed the rest of our guests because we were under the impression that his real was only suppose to feed ten people.

Saturday morning as we were getting things ready for the party we heard Ty playing, a thump and then more playing. Dallas and I were upstairs and he headed down to see what was going on. Ty had some how gotten on the cupboard and pulled off the sheet cake onto the floor. Luckily the plastic cover was on and taped so it just made the frosting look awful. I was SOOOO glad it was not the "real" cake.

I tried to fix the frosting and left to get his cake. It was the PERFECT cake for Tyler. A girl that I grew up with ( ok I grew up she was still little) but she does cakes and does an amazing job. Let me know if you want one and I will pass on her info! But we asked her to do a Rocket cake.

I brought the cake in and we set up a few of his party things and he was in Rocket heaven. Rocket was EVERYWHERE.

When people started to come he played with the boys in the ball pit and then got a little overwhelmed and wanted to just watch a movie. That is when I noticed the real boogies coming on. Still no fever though! We sang happy birthday and he "blew" out the candles that wouldn't stay lit and he opened presents.

He had such a good time. I can't believe he is 4!

* A funny bday story: On Barney Birthday baby Bop keeps bringing up the secret Cake. Every time the word cake is mentioned they tell her SHHH its a secret. So whenever cake was talked about he would say SHHH... He has been super cute! I think it is going to be a LONG few months with Halloween Barney and Barney Christmas!

What a night!!!!!

I had the most incredible evening with Dallas. It was absolutely surreal. It was wonderful.

We attended the Paypal corporate party. It was not just any party but one of those parties that you always hear about. You know.. the ones that end up with pictures for the year that can be used for blackmail.

It was held at the Mondrian hotel in old town Scottsdale. It is a VERY contemporary little place. Gorgeous and just like out of a movie. It was the party of the year. I felt a little under dressed but there were people who looked like they were on their way to prom. I wore a pink sweater and black dress pants. Dallas was in khaki dress pants and a black shirt. It had quite the range of attire.

The party had those cheese appetizers. Not like cheddar and Swiss but the strange smelly cheese. Drinks were served ( I had my coke with cherry in it :)) and then came the dinner. It was WEIRD. Everything was different than what we would have ever had. I tried almost all of it. So at the end of the night I had tried Tofu, scallops, coconut rice, ribs, lobster mashed potatoes, sea bass and yummy chocolate dessert. There was not one normal thing except the ribs. But we tried it. That is all that matters.

Then came for the fun part. The entertainment. This is where it got interesting. Although Dallas did win anything except for a nice fluffy pen that lights up on the end but they gave away nice diamond earrings, necklaces and of course the PS3.

They had a contest that involved dressing up someone in women's clothing. Lets just say, clothes were scarce on one of the participants. That is when the cameras came out and everyone was laughing.. HARD!! That poor guy... Blackmail forever.

Dallas and I got to dance for the first time ever. We have never danced together before. It was amazing. I loved being close to him and spending time with him. He is amazing and I love being with him all the time.

We left and waited for our car ( yep had Valet parking) and headed home. We stopped at a bookstore so I could get the next edition of my love affair and then we headed home.

All in all it was an amazing night. Go check out the pictures on the Mondrian website. What a fun little place.
