Hands

I haven't entered a photo into Iheartfaces for a really long time. This week isn't about faces though but an object. I went back through my archives and even went out today with camera in hand. I had ideas of what I wanted to take. Though my head ideas and what I get on "film" are usually VERY different I ended up not even taking a picture of what I "thought" I wanted.

Instead I did decide on one. A photo I had taken when I first got my camera. I hope this is the best photo I have of hands. But I realize that every photo has a hand. The photo in my head was one of the therapist helping Tyler, or the wheelchair guy fixing a chair for a child. But instead I got nothing.... But the past.

p.s. The same "day" and time the header picture was taken. I didn't realize it till just now. I like his face better in this one.

I heart faces- pets

While this isn't "our" pet. We thought we would enter it into the pets category. This monkey is in a different part of the zoo. Because Tyler is visually impaired they took us behind the scenes to these monkey's. This particular monkey was the reason they were away from the group. This monkey had seizures. So because this monkey was different the had to take him away from people. They take 2 other monkeys because this type of monkey can't be left alone. It makes them go crazy. So he had friends and they had a special cage just for them.

I heart faces- silhouette

This picture was taken before we could get out little guy walking on his own. His grandparents came to visit for his dads birthday and Ty took a liking to his grandpa. Anyone who knows Ty or his grandpa knows how special their tie is and how great it makes this picture.

I heart faces- Blurb

Just for a little info on the photo. I had just gotten my camera and he was a dirty little boy so we put him in the tub. I didn't do much blemish control because that was part of the love of this photo. The real love is his eye. It is his " special" eye. He has low vision from Retinopathy of prematurity. An eye condition caused directly from his premature birth. Though we did do surgery to save his eye sight he still has profound loss in his vision field he also has a rare little spot called a Coloboma. That is the tear or cat eye you see in the photo.

His special eye.... Gives him Super Powers!!

I am submitting this photo into the www.iheartfaces.com Blurb Book photo contest. I am granting I ♥ Faces permission to use my photo in a printed version of a book for commercial use and possibly advertising of a photo book on both the Blurb and I ♥ Faces web sites.

Hats?

Ty hates hats. I can't get him to wear them. So when the contest of I heart faces asks for hates I had to dig deep and need some opinions.

I heart faces- Self Portrait

I was NOT looking forward to this challenge but thought why not? My face is rarely in pictures. I hate all the ones I am in and well.. Why not?

So... Here is the one I finally settled on. There were 2 I liked a lot. I didn't do the hands above my head, instead I chose to try to do it with a reflection in the mirror. so that is me.

I took this of Andrea and her best friend ( which happen to be her mom). They both loved it. Now that I have been editing longer I see things that I would change and do better or do different. ( But I of course can't find the original to start on over.) I do love this photo though.

I had a few of him in time out but not of that great quality. Sometimes pictures are just pictures. They mean a lot to me but even edited aren't fabulous. So I found this one. He was not loving having his picture taken.

I heart faces #5- no flash

I can't even tell you how much I am enjoying this photo contest. I enjoy the most the advice that is given when you enter. So, leave me a comment. I am going to be doing more with no flash from now on. I am working to the get the aperture and the speed right.

This is Tyler today. He fell asleep on the way home from the gas station with a cup in tow. I was able to quietly keep him asleep as I ran in and got my camera. The stuff on his face was a donut and chips from the walmart. He is spoiled rotten.

I heart faces #3

This week over at I heart Faces is the creative crop. I couldn't find some of the originals of the newborn shoot I did because that had some creative ways of getting things to work. I guess you live and learn. Instead I thought I would enter a picture of my in laws I took this summer.

Here is the edited and crop. I have actually done more than one edit of this particular picture. I have learned a little more and don't like it quite as dark etc. So this is what I came up with.

It is like week 7 over there but only week 2 for me.
They have a new beginners category. I thought I would try that since they do give critique and I could really use the critique on my photos. The category this week is messy. I was looking back at a few photos and didn't know which to use. I chose this one:

I heart faces

My SIL Crystal sent me a link the other night about a weekly photo contest. It is called Iheartfaces. Since I have been taking a million I thought I would go back through the archives of my Iphoto and find one that I would like to enter.

This weeks entry is Black and white.

This photo was taken as I was "practicing" for an upcoming photo shoot. I LOVE his special eye. Someday I am going to teach him that he has super powers with that eye!!
