Christmas 2011

This Christmas was magical. Tyler totally got it, sort of, and he has talked about Christmas Eve for a while and he has understood Santa. He wasn't afraid of Santa either. He actually enjoyed the several times he saw Santa. When we did our Christmas cards ( that we have YET to send out) he stood right by Santa and said " Hey Santa, it's me Tyler."

We spent a lot of time with Family ( on both sides) this year. We had a wonderful time with the Warner family and had a great kick off with the Labrum family. Both left us all exhausted and ready for the big day.

This year on Christmas Eve we were invited to Aunt Crystal's where we had a wonderful prime rib dinner, cute kids, pajama's and Grandpa Brown reading to all the kids. We were exhausted by the time we got home.

D and I did the duty, made sure we had our traditional gifts to each other and off to bed we went. Tyler woke up about 6:30 and we easily entertained the kid for a half hour and woke up the Dad to go see what Santa brought.

Ty was loving presents this year. We knew from past experience it was best to keep the movies to the end so we kept them out of sight. But he loved his presents. He got a doctor kit and immediately put on the stethoscope and listened to his own heart.

He said he was Uncle Barrett. His kit came complete with glasses, a beeper and a cell phone for those late night/ weekend on call days!

Ty's also got a leap frog pen that he actually likes. He asks me what the pen says on the book and we read the books that he got. It was a huge fear that sensory wise he wouldn't be OK with it. But he was. He doesn't love to do it himself yet but both the boys love stories so I don't mind.

Baby Grayson has some how gotten the nick name of monkey. He has had it from the start. He has several sock monkey's and it has just kinda been his thing. Christmas was no exception. He got 3 of them. All different! He loved them too!

With a new high chair and excersaucer this kid is LOVING being up and looking around. So much so he doesn't even care much for his bouncy seat. He had a great time on his first Christmas and even took a somewhat decent nap.

At some point in the morning, Grandma the old lady and grandpa the boy and Nicky came by. Brought another round of Christmas joy by putting up a race car track on the wall. OH BOY it was a hit. We have yet to stop playing race the cars. ( word of advice though. Command strips DO take paint off.... And I found where one was taken off and HIDDEN.... (grandpa the boy) only to break off more later. But all in good fun right!

Dallas made lamb for his family and had it cooking on the grill for a few hours. We headed off to Grandma's house in the late afternoon for more fun food and family. Ty and Grayson were spoiled rotten and Tyler came home with his newest prized possession.

A MICROPHONE!

It is currently set up where he can enjoy his favorite things: Singing, Elmo, Magmets ( magnets) and a drink of pepper and toaster struddles, all while sporting his newest attire of Angry Birds. ( from Grandma the old lady)

Dallas and I had a wonderful time watching these sweet boys. I am thankful the week is over. My checking account is glad the season is over. My body is thankful for the hot mess of food we were given to eat and my heart if over flowing with the wonderful people we have in our lives.

What a holiday season it was..... Nothing but memories....
