I fall in love

I fall in love DAILY.

Deeper and deeper.

Even more so in the last 18 weeks.

The last few months I have realized that this is the last time of our lives that it will be just him. No other siblings. Just him. It makes it bitter sweet really.

The cute stuff he does makes my love grows deeper and deeper and makes me realize everything that he does is even more amazing because he is such a Miracle.

The last few weeks we have realized just how much he soaks in. He is so SMART. He is very attentive and very willing to learn. Over a year ago, when he didn't talk, we started making him say prayers at night. We would pray with him around us before that but this was his time.

As his words and vocabulary exploded his prayers are all his. He says what he wants and he does what he wants in them. So sometimes mom and dad don't get blessed but what he feels gets said.

Today he was playing with Grayson's blanket he was taking his "give the mouse a cookie book" and covering it up with the blanket and telling the Mouse book to go night night. Then it escalated and he asked me to help him upstairs.

We went upstairs and he took the book to his "bigger bed" and put the book to bed. He sat right next to the book and said "OK now fold your arms" and he proceeded to help the mouse book say a prayer.

It went something like this.
T: Fold your arms mouse
T: Heavenly Father, thank you for the mouse. Thank you for the mommy to read us the mouse book. In the name of Jesus Christ Amen

He covers the book up and gives it a kiss. As he walks out he tells the book. I will be right out here to check on you. ( Dallas tells him that every night) and Ty waited.

He went back in and took the book off the bed and proceeded to do it in ALL of our beds. He is so sweet. His little prayers are always tear jerkers for us.

He is so thoughtful when it comes to saying I am sorry. Or asking if you are OK. He is so thoughtful in wanting to help.

He comes home off the bus telling us all about his day.

I LOVE this kid. I am so thankful that he is mine. He puts a smile on my face, he filled a void I didn't know was there and he has made a space in my heart that I don't want him to leave. It has also made me realize there is a space in my heart for another one! For that I will be thankful for.

So yep! I fall in love. With a blonde haired, blue eyed, dirty faced and gross hands, still not potty trained 5 year old. He is my life. He is my baby. He will always be my best bud.

Octagon, hexagon, pentagon

Tyler LOVES LOVES loves shapes. We point out shapes all the time. In almost EVERY book he has shapes. We have shape books. When he learned to identify the easy ones we went to the BIG ones. You know, the ones that have lots of sides and no one really knows if you got it right or not.

He is getting really really good at getting them right. It sounds quite odd to have him point and tell me that is a pentagon or that is a octagon. But I will happily take it.

Today I got a phone call from his school. I really thought that I would be getting a call telling me he is hungry because we didn't get him to eat. Instead we got a call asking me if I "Know that Tyler knows all his shapes and colors and can tell you what order the rainbow colors go in." And " Did you know that he knows what a octagon is? " I chuckled and thought... YEP I know. Why do I know? We play and we read, ALL day. We find octagons and we find diamonds and we find triangles. We draw circles, and squares and rectangles. We talk about hexagons and all other gon's you can think of.

If you want to know the truth. He knows what the Leaning tower of Pisa is too. And he can point to it in pictures. He can build one in his bath tub. He knows it is in Italy. He knows where China is on a map.

Best of all he knows his name and how to spell it. He knows about red cherry pie, Green trees, pink kitten noses and cows.

He remembers Christmas. He remembers our Christmas tree. He remembers how to trick or treat.

Why shouldn't he know what an octagon looks like? Or a pentagon? Or is it more he knows and we didn't know he knew.

He has been a sponge for a LONG time. Watching him sit and think and then stand up and come over and TELL us the word he was trying to figure out. To think that the time we lay on his bed for 30 minutes every day reading book after book. He is SOOO smart. He knows so much.

Shapes.

He knows his shapes.

I LOVE my family!

We had a great week. It was hard to get back into the swing of things but we hit every therapy appointment that we had this week. We even made it to PT ( which has been VERY hard to make it to) and we had all the other ones here at home.

Ever since vacation and Ty spending some time on the sideline watching Lily and Kya play he has been more interested in using his walker and "walking" to show us what he wants. He has also become way MORE opinionated. He will let us know he done, that he doesn't want certain things and that we have put in the wrong movie.

He has been way to cute for words though. Today when I got home from work he was showed me how cute he could be. He was playing ring around the Rosie's and was spinning and falling down. He is so smart when it comes to understanding what they and us are saying. To bad he can't understand SLEEP LONGER!!

Dallas and I bought a new bed this week. It was delivered on Thursday and I have been floating on a little piece of heaven and a fluffy cloud. I love it. And Dallas got a new computer. He has been work so hard I was excited to see his face when he opened it up and got it out.

Dallas attended a pain clinic and had some work done there. He seems to be feeling better and I am hoping to do it again soon! The better he feels the happier he is. I sure love him!

Anyway, that is us for the week. I sure love these boys!
