Hydrocephalus Awareness Walk

This past weekend we were able to participate in the hydrocephalus awareness walk in Sugar House park here in Utah. We didn't do a ton of fundraising for it this year but I plan to now that I know how it works. But overall Tyler was able to donate a good chunk of money for his team.

We had to be there bright and early Saturday morning. So early that we were late. I know * SHOCKER!* We did get there pretty much before everyone else so that was a bonus. I wasn't sure what to expect. We have never done a walk like this before.

We got signed up, and Tyler and his grandma decided that they needed to dance. So off they went. The highland high school Cheerleaders were there as a service project and Ty decided he liked them. He was off to dance... WITH THEM!

Some how throughout the morning he ended up on the MC stage and took the microphone and helped them. He had worked all morning on saying Hydrocephalus. Sadly now he thinks that hydrocephalus means park . He had the best time.

His favorite Doctor was there. He smiled and laughed at Tyler. We are so thankful for great docs that save our babies lives.

Ty started the walk right up front, but he didnt have enough stamina to stay at the top of the pack. His poor, fat mom didn't make it even half way. But I was trying to fed a baby in a moby so I think I am excused. When he crossed the finished line he told us he won the race. The announcers yelled "It's Tyler the professor!" and he got even more excited.

It was a great day and we hope that the walk raises more awareness and especially more funds for research. Hydrocephalus is not always that nice.

Here is to hoping some day there is a cure!
