Oh sweet Baby Boy!

We were all expecting to be getting a baby sister. We had had some pretty spiritual experiences as a couple and a lone that we were pretty sure this little one was a girl.

Of course only the delivery room will tell 100 percent but after the Ultrasound on Tuesday I can pretty much tell you, this is FOR SURE a baby boy.

I had an appointment just prior to the hospital and the gender thing was brought up. Knowing that I was having some mixed feeling about having a boy and not a girl, this friend and I had a pretty decent conversation about what would happen.

As Dallas and I were in the U/S room with the tech. She was SEARCHING for this kid. He was not holding still long enough for her to give us a good picture. We asked if she knew what it was and she smiled a Little and said " Well if I could get this little boy to hold still I can show you!" I looked at D and said BOY! We seriously were determined it was a girl. But it wasn't. The feeling in the room.... Peace. Total peace. I was smiling ear to ear. Not one of the worries I had felt regarding my "issues" with having another boy were there.

We did get a nice "picture" and one where he was holding still enough to snap the picture. I think I felt a little relief.

A boy.

It feels odd to me that we are having a boy. Yet totally normal. I truly think that there are certain people and places and times that are just needed in a family. I don't think there is a single person in my family( extended) that isn't suppose to be there. Sometimes we aren't sure what that role is that we think they are going to play but there is a role.

I have never really bought into the line of " God will give you a baby when he is ready" making my failure feel even more exacerbated because that was what I was SUPPOSE to be doing. But I think at times He really does come through and gives you what you need, at the right time, that is at the same page you are at RIGHT that second.

I really believe this baby , a BOY, was suppose to be coming to our family for a reason. As we got even more excited for the prospect of having 2 boys some thoughts of overlapping skills or passing up were thought about. But at the time that we were working on getting a baby here, Ty grew up.

We had been trying for 3 years. If this baby came while we were first trying Ty was not ready for one. He had no communication. We lived in Arizona ( though I would LOVE to be out of UTAH!) and we had a million other things that wouldn't have "worked." But with the advances that Tyler is making right now, this new baby is going to be here right at the best time.

So, we are having a boy.
