We were not going to go to the ER if we could help it. When our brave boy started throwing up we knew we needed to go get checked out just to be sure it was not his shunt.
So here is the fast update and more will come later.
After nine hours in the ER we didn't have shunt failure and the little guy has a stomach bug. It was a very frustrating wait. It took more than 4 hours to get a doc in to even see him and order a CT scan and shunt series. EVEN THOUGH WALKING THROUGH THOSE DOORS IT IS REQUIRED if we are in possible malfunction.
After getting the scans and xrays done we waited for another 2 hours for the doc to not even fully walk into our room to discharge us but to also tell us that we need to come back if he start to vomit. ARE YOU KIDDING. we are not coming back to wait 9 more hours and get no where.
Boo on the ER.. We will be giving your patient relations people a little jingle along with letting our neurosurgeon know that they don't think brain trauma is important.
