A letter to a Miracle

My Sweet Tyler,

The definition of Miracle is a Wonder and a Marvel. All of those things describe you. 5 years ago you entered our lives in a chaotic and rushed moment. The minute I awoke I wanted to know how my miracle was doing.

Within minutes you were rushed into my room. With tears in my eyes I begged for you to get a blessing. What a comfort to my heart, telling me all would be alright. Little did I know what alright was.

As I stood by your bed with your dad I saw his love for you grow by the second. I was in love with you from the second I laid eyes on you. My heart dropped when they told me how sick you were. I knew it would take a miracle to keep you here.

So we prayed for one.

You are 5 now. 5 years of falling in love with you. 2,629,746 minutes you have changed my life. You have changed everything! You made me a mom. You changed my faith and you taught me unconditional love.

Best of all you taught me compassion and charity and love.

Tyler, I fall short of your unconditional love every moment of the day. I only hope that some day you know just what the sparkle of your eye does to my heart. The flutters it gives my heart and the desire to just be a little better.

This year has been full of new things for us. The most amazing is your voice. To hear you speak and to hear you say so many things makes my heart so happy. You work so hard to use your words and to express yourself. My most favorite sound in the whole world is the sound of your voice and the words that you say. I can honestly say I have never gotten tired of hearing your voice and I don't think your dad and I ever will. We both waited almost 5 years to hear I love you.

I love how much you love your dad. I love that you can't wait for him to get in the door. I love the kisses you give him. I love the squeeze you so freely give and I love the " So sorry Dad-e" that you offer when you know you have been naughty. But most importantly I love you.

I love you no matter what. You are my baby boy forever. You are mine and mine alone.

You are a miracle. You are more than a miracle. You beat the odds everyday of your life. You have fought to live since before you were born and you've keep fighting after.

We are so proud of you and hope that you know we will always ALWAYS love you..

Love,
Your mommy
