Retail Therapy- Good for me, bad for Dallas

As some of you may know I recently had a change in employment. We decided after a VERY drama filled day at Walmart that I just needed to be home. I have had that job for roughly 2 year and have made a lot of friends there. But because of the people who work there there was also a lot of drama.

The past few months Dallas and I had been discussing the need for me to be home or that we had missed each other and felt we never saw each other. So I would take a few days off and then head back. But this time we were done.

So for the last 2 weeks I have been a stay at home mom full time.

* Big Sigh* I LOVE being home. The last 2 years the end of the day activities have been left to Dallas. The hardest is that sweet kiss on his way to bed. Oh how I missed it. But we have also gotten a routine of his bath. I wanted to be there for his bath. Now I get to be. And it starts off with a piggy back ride all around the house, being chased by dad as the big finale.

The part I have a hard time with is being a full time stay at home mom. Crazy it is the same reason I love it. My whole day is devoted to 2 of the most amazing people in the entire world. BUT sometimes I forget about that third person who lives here. ME! I went from 20 hours or so a week of a time that was me, work and (unwanted) drama but other people and randomly some adult interaction, to LOADS and loads of laundry, billionth run of Barney, a frustrated kid, a super tired dad and a workaholic dad.

Well workaholic dad did an amazing job and released a fabulous new program for all you MAC users out there. And he has finally crashed. Which leaves the other adult conversation less unless it entails, "Tyler say Ba ba ba." or " Pick a movie and we are watching it all the way through" Or "please don't throw your toys".

Well amazing and tired Dad realized how much mommy needed some time away. In the women world we call this retail therapy. Meaning, get yourself out shopping and don't forget the credit card.

Dallas was nice enough to take Tyler this afternoon and I headed out to shop. I needed a new swimming suit and a few other things for our upcoming trip to Utah AND it is our anniversary coming up soon.

I spent 3 hours shopping, 1 hour getting diapers, looking at randomness and grabbing us all yummy Danny's drinks( our fav... crushed ice for ty and I and cherry coke for me) for the best boys.

And then home I went.

AAWWWW a new mom. A mom that remembers how much she LOVES the boys so much and is so incredibly thankful that we can afford to have me stay home. I love being home more than you know. Everyday I need to try and remember me and remember how much I love them and keep that in my actions and deeds. And then get a respite person who plans to stay and show up!!

But retail therapy went well for me today....... 3 pairs of flip flops, a new swimsuit that looks like a tankini skirty but is one piece, THEN I got 2 pairs of Capri's and some shirts. The shops treated me well..I loved going out.

Next time I think I should just get some chicks together and eat at the Village inn.... Saves my pocket book a little..

One a funny note. I used Dallas credit card at a store. Handed it to her. She looked at it, called me Dallas and I said " Oh I am not Dallas I am his wife." She smiled, handed me a pen and I signed MY NAME on the paper. Told her I might be back for the swim suit I had on hold. Went to 2 other shops came back and she said " Oh Dallas looks like you didn't find anything else." HAHA....

Guess its true you don't look at what people write on the credit card slips

Tomorrow, Dallas was invited to share an evening with some apple developers. So he is getting out and about. Probably not as retail therapy but as adult interaction with no purple dinosaur. We hope it does him good. He is such a hard worker for us..... GO BUY HIS STUFF!!
