Genetic Traits

When I was pregnant I often dreamed about what the baby would be like. I wondered what traits he would carry on. What family he would look like. The Labrum's were pretty genetically seen on all their grandchildren at the time that Ty was born. I often thought he would look like the rest of them.

When Ty was born he had red hair. Not flaming red but red. He was taking on the resemblance of his Auntie if he was to keep that red hair. He had back hair, resembling his Uncle Barrett and grandpa Labrum. Yet his features were yet to resemble any ones that I could tell yet. See the SLIGHT resemblence in this picture.. but mostly just cause Dallas in his younger years can't be found.

As Ty got bigger he looked less and less like the monkey with back hair and lost his hair crossing out Auntie Sheena and started looking more and more like his dad. He did have my blue eyes but the rest were his dad.

As he got even older he still resembles his dad but his personality traits are all but a good mixture of both.

A small example of traits Ty has.

Tender hearted- a total dad trait. His dad is so tender hearted. When Ty sees me upset or crying he always comes and gives me a rub on my arm or a kiss. Just like his dad.

Stubborn- I always joke it is his dads trait but oh my does he have a stubborn streak in him that could only come from a Labrum ( or a Ware) depending on where you see that I became stubborn from.

Clumsy- Yet another graceful trait from his mom. While I do blame some of it on the big old hole left from prematurity, I am clumsy as all get out with no excuse. Grandma may recall a certain clumsy time that has left her with a broken bone or two.

Love for movies- That would be a dad trait. Though I would doubt that dad has a love for Barney he does love movies.

Love of computers- Ty loves the computer. He can't do anything on it yet but his love for the computer is definitely a dad trait. And that Ty has his own itouch would show just how much Ty is a little Mac.

The biggest trait that I noticed today is that Ty is a bear when he has to get up. He is up super early and some days it is just to early. Today was one of those days. He was crabby for most of his speech time and he was falling asleep on the way home. He threw a fit when we got home and I finally had enough and told him we were taking a nap. He looks innocent.... but wait....

After lunch we went to lay down in my bed. Ty was fighting taking a nap but when he got to sleep he was out. I could tell when he was ready to get up and something I learned a while back was to LEAVE HIM ALONE.

He fusses, cries, moans, groans, pouts etc.. not mom traits.. I am sure. I have to turn on a movie and totally ignore him till he is good and ready to get up. He has to do it all on his own. If someone forces it... well watch out for the bear.

It is nice to know that some traits are mine..... even if looks are his dad....

For all of us who REALLY know you, with his attitude, he takes after YOU! We leave you alone!! Hey, that's like me! But for his cuteness, he really takes after his Aunt Nicky! :)
